Not “buy a product,” but “source a harness from this guy in Chechia, a mount from someone in Finland, a cable from who‑knows‑where, and hope none of it gets pinched behind the dash.” Adventure Pilot looks promising, but right now it’s basically a global scavenger hunt with firmware.

I’d happily run it on my Gen 1 R1T, but the current setup is overwhelming. Just give us a Rivian turnkey kit, one box, a couple options, everything included, no international parts safari. Tell me the price, tell me who can install it, and let me just drive… or let Ms. Comma drive. Surely, I can't be the only person who thinks this way, right?

Just buy the comma 4 and install it. It will work fine for you mostly.

The other harnesses/kits/etc are for optional features like longitudinal control and angle-based steering.

AdventurePilot is a Rivian specific fork of SunnyPilot which is a fork of OpenPilot. But stock OpenPilot works with Rivians as does the stock harness.

My only suggestion is to also do the fuse mod as that can resolve certain "issues"

As far as mounts go.... I use the stock comma 4 mount and it works fine. I don't take it off my dash though as the comma 4 is pretty low profile, and I don't tend to leave my R1S in shady parking lots. Not saying it can't get stolen, but I don't worry about it.

I don't get the criticism of Comma here.

The full advanced functionality is not something Comma.ai supports natively. That functionality is added by a group of dedicated modders like Lukas that like tinkering. It's experimental.

For Rivian, all Comma.ai officially supports is the default harness and the default lateral control.

It's like if someone made enhancements to your Jack Pucks to make them better in some way and published the improvement, but the improvement required sourcing some material from some third party. It's not really a reflection on your business or product nor should it.

Well, and to be fair, many open source communities evolve to the point that someone begins to offer the "one stop shopping" service requested.......for a fee. That can take a lot of the fun and flexibility out of open source for some people. For others avoiding that "fun" is the point.

The larger the community, the more likely that is to happen.

Hoping that someone here can help me. Just updated to adventure pilot 2026.003 this am…had trouble updating which is another story. However, when driving this am, the adaptive cruise control with alpha longitudinal is all over the place. The normally green path is typically grey and the vehicle decelerates 10-15mph on the freeway after the update. It’s almost undrivable, which is a stark contrast to 2026.002. Its raining this am, but I don’t recall this much issue before and it was happening even before the rain. I’ve attached a picture of the display. Any help greatly appreciated!

It appears to have been a driving model issue. Although I didn’t realize it, when I copied my settings over they did not transfer and therefore my driving model reset and I was having problems. Now that I’ve reset back to my other driving model seems to be working in.

OH yeah. The fact the driving model seems to switch back to default when updating is a bit annoying.
