I know I know , I'm just not sure in 5 years I'll still love seeing Barney parked in my driveway LOL
Well, Barney is changing with the times, from sun up to sundown, sunny to cloudy, and bright to shaded... one of my favorites.

Catalina Cove is going to be hugely popular. I think the LG (depending on what they charge) would be my pick. I have a FG R1S and the color is great, I would get that again. Black, White are two i would never get and the purple i don't know about.
The lady working the line at the Block Party in Denver was saying that 4 out of 5 people said they were going Catalina Cove.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
Yeah for what i have seen it looks great. I like the uniqueness of it. I just wonder if over time, having a purple car will not age well. Not that the paint is lower quality or anything, just that our personal preferences change with the times.
They claim unique colors have better resale value.

So I had a car with a similar color. After awhile I got so tired of the color. Maybe this will look so different in person. Going to the Miami block party I like the launch green but I’m thinking I might like the regular green better when I see it in person. I’m so over any grey tone. Been there done that on and off since 1994.

Please oh please oh please don't let the Catalina Cove R2 become the new Whitetesla (though it would fersure be a vast improvement). Nobody buy one but me!

Catalina Cove reminds me of the Area 51 color when the Ford Maverick first came out. Certainly a unique color at first, but something you get sick of after awhile. At least it’s not another shade of grey!

I would love the Launch Green with the Coastal Cloud interior, but I understand the Black Crater Signature interior will only be available at launch. Womp womp.

I know Forest Green "feels old" bc it was available on R1S, but it's definitely the color of choice for me. Very shiny, metallic, and a true green. Gives tank vibes on the R2.

Launch Green looks grey and like a Hyundai IMO lol.

It's not matte, that's the only thing that keeps it from a full-on military vibe. Still far too close for my taste - I wore that color for a long time, now I get to choose so I'm going with anything outside the grey spectrum.

The email that came out yesterday was an update about Launch Edition R2s. Here's the part that talks about interiors...

===
On the inside, customers can choose between two all-new premium interiors:

Black Crater Signature (available first)
Inspired by the dynamic dark tones of volcanic rock, this interior is crafted with upcycled Birch wood and textile accents. This creates an inviting, dark tonal environment that seamlessly blends rugged durability with a refined, minimalist aesthetic.

Coastal Cloud Signature (available later)
Open and airy, the crisp tones of cool and cloudy coastal sky are warmed with upcycled Birch wood and soft textile accents. This palette offers a modern aesthetic that is grounded in Rivian’s nature-inspired design language.
===
I take this as meaning you CAN get the lighter interior with the Launch Edition, but it will be available "later" whatever that means.

I wish I could find something that shows the depth of the color, the closest I can get is this showing a little bit of speckle and it’s on an R1. My wife and I are going to a service center this weekend to see the color sample in person so hopefully that helps.
