Has anyone with the Gen2 premium system experienced a sudden change where the front stage loses bass and the sound shifts rearward?

Mine changed mid-track while driving last week. Since then:
  • Bass drops noticeably when I fade to front left or front right.
  • Sound is "normal" when front centered (sub + center compensate I think) - though kinda feels like its a 90's boombox sitting on the dash...
  • Rear positions sound normal.
  • Overall imaging now feels like it’s coming from behind me in the front seats.
  • Issue persists across all sources (Apple Music, Bluetooth).
  • Hard & Soft reset did not resolve it - neither has leaving it overnight.
  • Tested with 50–125 Hz sine tones over Bluetooth.

Important detail: I can physically feel the front door woofers moving during bass tones (a little bit), so they are not completely dead. They just sound thin or underrepresented when isolated to a front corner.

Has anyone else seen/heard/encountered this, or have any idea what might be causing it? (sound systems are not my forte)

Yes but no. Not right now. That happened to me after one of the updates last year. Soft reset fixed it.

I have a different "issue". It's almost not an issue really, but I am noticing more rear-ish biased audio for the last week or so.

No, it's not Atmos mixes in Tidal. It is straight stereo. No, I haven't changed the balance. Yes, I did press the reset anyway. No, I didn't change it then reset it, but that's a good idea.

So it feels like something happened. I could do a soft reset but honestly, it's balanced really nicely. I kinda don't want to mess with it.

yes (there are a few older threads on this) on Gen 2 Tri similar thing happened on both left side door speakers. low or no sound. resets were no help. mobile came and he felt it was one or both related amps may be bad or not fully cycling on. he had spare amp for one of them but first tried a deeper infotainment system "reboot" by removing the 12v power completely and then did something on his diagnostic laptop and then a hard reset. said that the relays had not fully engaged. worked fine after........the Soonish Tub Thumper true subwoofer was the ultimate answer for us on the presence and bass.

As somewhat expected the SC 'cannot reproduce' after trying a playing atmos(sigh) tracks etc - and also report they cant hear 'rattling, gargling' etc - despite having read this thread - hey folks!

Anyway - trying to be more useful, I spent 10 mins vibing up: https://github.com/puppetsock/audio-soundstage

Audio Soundstage — Rivian R1T Speaker Diagnostic Tool
A command-line diagnostic tool for identifying speaker issues in Rivian R1T vehicles. Generates test tones via Bluetooth, records the cabin response with a calibrated USB measurement microphone, and produces quantified analysis including frequency response, phase alignment, THD, and tonal balance.

Built to compare a known-good vehicle against a suspect vehicle, providing objective data suitable for a service claim.

I may extend this through to be an 'eq helper' so we can try and get something out of these systems :D Here's one of the plots it produces from a 'good' R1T, when I pick my truck back up from service tomorrow I'll be able to see if its the crazy taking over or there is something afoot:

Pretty cool. When you're done with it, I'd take a copy. I noticed your symptom with a Tidal track and now I'm going to have to listen more carefully.
Let me know how your testing goes. I feel like something odd happened. Could also be totally some sort of freaky sympathetic audio craziness. I'm not so out of touch to be 100% sure it's just my imagination messing with me. Psycho acoustics is a crazy field and I know nothing of value except our brains are freaky.
