I live in the PNW so this seems like madness to me, as the more glass you can get on a roadtrip the better.
But for those that this is the right route for, looks like a good project and well organized 🍻 Nice work.
Gotcha. I haven't had any body work done so I can't speak to that. From conversations, the Portland location is expanding next door and considering another location, so maybe those considerations are related.
There is also a location in Tualatin which is close by Portland when traffic allows. The mobile teams in the area have also been great. My stepdad has had good experiences with his R1T and my good friend with his R1S as well, so I would imagine this is more of an isolated incident.
Sucks to have a bad experience. I've been to the Portland SC and Tualatin SC (and Mobile service!) a ton of times over the years and it's always been phenomenal, issues have been solved, and working with them has been easy to the point where I've cringed reading others tales of woe from...
Few months back I had my gen 1 R1S into the Portland SC just replaced half shafts for me after I had it in for maintenance and mentioned the squeaks and groans. Cleared it up. A friend just took there's last week, had the same groans, they replaced half shafts, seemed to fix it as well.
I'm a lead foot of the finest order so I'm a bad use case but with the temps up in the PNW, I'm around 10-15% improved. To me the real improvements are they are whisper quiet compared to the Pirellis and the ride is so much better. They are a bit spongier when cornering but not anything that...
I bought my 275/65/R20 LTX M/S2s from Costco. 3k miles on them, love them, and the costco warranty last week when I got a key lodged in my tire. $18 replacement.
Looks like production has begun. I can't afford one, but I'm definitely rooting for them and Lightship to be successful.

Lots of wonky stuff can be avoided by doing a reset after a software update. Used to have wild stuff happen, garages disappearing, Bluetooth issues, screens going black. Haven't had a single post-update issue since I started resetting after each update.
I'm a few thousand miles into my new 20" LTX MS2s and I love them (no vibration - if it's the thread I'm thinking of, I think that guy had balance issues).
They are so much quieter than my Pirellis, the ride is softer, the mileage is better, they are cheaper, and they will last waaaaay longer...
Yeah, I agree for sure. I have about 400 miles on mine after getting them on from Costco. Much much quieter and my ride feels softer. Won't know much about the efficiency until the temps get up, but I'm looking forward to it. Either way, for me the only loss here was the look isn't as great...
