The service centers have a bit too much...what I call... "Assuming with Certainty"
It's a new vehicle and as we all get reminded...we should expect some defects and issues that will require new iterations of parts. So why can't Rivian Service have the same attitude... seems like they are just...
Sorry to hear this, I went through similar challenges. My rig went in 5 times to service...they could not resolve the alignment and sagging on the right side issue.
I finally sold the truck because the whole service process was a bit of a circle "j". Super nice people on the phone but no...
That dent looks like it was caused by service or someone who serviced the bed cover prior to delivery. I had similar damage caused on my truck by the service team just jamming a pry tool in there against the body without a few strips of blue tape down and maybe a microfiber underneath. In...
Everyone says - a little panel gap issue is no big deal, then this happens.
Now they have to replace paint the panel and the new paint will be slightly different shade and you either live with the one panel looking different or you blend the new paint into the good paint on the panels around...
If you have pre March in pricing I’m not sure why you would need gap insurance. The truck is worth more than you paid, even if you financed 100% of it.
Gap insurance is only needed if you owe more on the loan than the vehicle is worth. Typically this needed when car dealers rolled the negative...
If that’s the case they need to tell people that so they have the option of waiting until they are out of the beta phase and have their shit together. Managing your customers expectations is key to success. Otherwise you’re just making excuses.
I didn’t spend $82k out the door to be some...
Such a shame they are still building trucks with poor panel alignment. How is this making it past all their “inspections”? That gap looks so obviously tight it would clearly be an issue, let alone with heat on it.
I’ve had pretty much the same experience with the SD service center. Younger guys lacking experience. The youngish service manager told me “don’t worry we’ll just keep trying our best until we get it right”.
There are not tenured shops foremen or techs, those folks are not leaving Toyota or GM...
Tailgate latch loop plates on the tailgate itself are not lined up properly with the latch mouth on the truck body.
there is play on the loop plates, just loosen the torx bits and line the latch loops up. 5 min fix
The Rivian has an onboard inverter but it’s only 120v/15A- so it can only power a fridge or a couple small appliances via extension lead. 120v/15A is Pretty weak in my opinion…
V2H/V2x is an automotive protocol and standard that communicates with the vehicle to pull DC power direct from the...
Yikes, I guess drive it and hope the battery pack holds up. You're covered with the warranty but I'm like you - I would prefer to replace parts that have been pushed beyond their limits even if they appear to function well after the fact.
Have them install 2x 60A circuits, one for each car/charger. Order 2x third party EV chargers from Emporia or Juice Box and have the electrician install them.
Hardwired EV chargers typically top out at 48A which is the max you can put on a 60A circuit. I think Ford and Lucid are able to run...
This
camp speaker is buggy and goes in and off in the doc. That sound is the speaker running out of battery cuz it s not charging and sleeping in the dock.
