I remember watching the webcast of that thing. There were so many vids of kids preordering it on YouTube. My favorite one was where this guy got a travel credit card, reserved 50 Cybertrucks to get his free mileage, just so he could refund them and cancel his card later
"The elimination of the per-manufacturer-cap is effective for vehicles sold after May 24, 2021. The portions of the proposal making the EV credit a refundable personal income tax credit along with the VIN requirement are effective for vehicles acquired after December 31, 2021"
Stole this from...
WOWOW. Did you read this?
Cybertruck buyers will be saying "I am innovative and can afford luxury, but I still care."
I needed a good laugh, thank you.
This is my argument for getting the truck right now with my wife. Planned power shutoffs being a thing of the past and saving money every day just running off the truck vs inflated peak rates.
Nice thank you.
During the clip from Roadshow he talked about the power of the F150L and it just tears it up until past 80. I'm hoping Rivian and others are the same way. I hate when they cheese specs with 'Launch Control' BS. I want to know the power when I hit it after a red light with...
A. Fully agree. Bad and good dealers. The big advantage is for service and with this going to blow up in the commercial truck market, they need that assurance.
B. You totally should talked about the Mach E (in this thread or another). Lots of similar things between the two which could be...
Price is a factor for me so I've always gravitated towards the Explore trim. White exterior and Black interior.
White looks really good with the yellow badging and yellow calipers and I think Black interior looks best with the black carbon fiber looking dash in the Explore
I was bored and did some napkin math at work.
-Price jump from XLT to Lariat in the gas models is ~7k, so even with a small bump for newness that should hopefully put the Lariat at 60k with an 8k bump over the XLT Lightning.
-Going from XLT gas to XLT Lightning was about a 12k bump, so again...
Big battery is silly. Hopefully they do offer some free charging on the RAN though. Free promotion and word of mouth that they have this great network to help reach fun destinations.
I'm blindly hoping that the bigger pack will be less on the more expensive trims. Get that Lariat around 70 and make my decision really difficult between the Lariat and an Explore trim R1T :headbang:
Really digging the exterior look of the car. Very retro/nerdy with the pixels and all that, looks fun. V2L is great and I think more vehicles should have that versatility. 800V is so great, really makes you question a 400V car as obsolete already. Maybe not quite that drastic, but hopefully...
Fully agree. Rivian is trying to go for the adventure oriented, more affluent buyers and Ford is going for the "everyman" truck buyer. Not as much overlap as people think. The only ones I see possibly jumping ship now are the contractor type guys that might go for a Platinum Ford now, but...
While I love pickups, the R1S is a real gem IMO. Biggest and nicest SUV that is also fast, has great range and looks amazing. Nothing I've seen thus far, prototype or otherwise even comes close to it. Unless you need the bed more than the ability to haul kids/people I would totally go that...
Coming in under the price of a single motor CT, the Ford will have the commercial sector on lockdown unless GM comes to play. Range will be a basic tie since Tesla fudges their numbers and Ford has sandbagged their numbers with the EV thus far. Ford has them beat in power, AWD, usable (not...
