https://www.slashgear.com/ford-f-150-lightning-is-a-tesla-powerwall-on-wheels-19673534/ " Down the line, Ford says, it has even more ambitious updates for the system, Ford Intelligent Power won’t just call the F-150 Lightning’s battery into play during emergency stations, but will aim to offset...
  2. Electric F150 Lightning EV to be revealed May 19

So extended battery is $7k if this is correct. XLT starts at $52k
  3. Electric F150 Lightning EV to be revealed May 19

I think that is the important thing. Get that low hanging fruit first. Getting the battery density up to snuff with solid state batteries is going to take time to tackle a use case like you described above. EVs are such a beta test right now that they won't work for every situation. This...
  4. Electric F150 Lightning EV to be revealed May 19

I always thought so. I'm not a CPA so I'm not sure. Did a Google search and there is a form for business use EV tax credit, what the fine print is I'm not sure
  5. Electric F150 Lightning EV to be revealed May 19

My biggest wow was the commercial truck. $32k after credit with decent range. Every city and fleet account in the country will be fighting over these for years
  6. Positive Prospects, -Harvard Lithium Metal Solid State Battery

I watched it at work, here were my takeaways. 1. VW partnership is legit, they just announced today building a pilot line for them to ramp up faster. They have already achieved technical milestones, hence the 100M award a few weeks ago. 2, They are building a factory in northern CA to help...
  7. The Competition Spotted - GMC Hummer EV

So cool. Price on this one is too high, but they talked about with the second gen Ultium they were looking at 450mi range and 60% price reduction on the battery. Should be good then. Only 5+ more years ?
  8. The current State of charging in the US

I didn't really think about bigger hotels where you park in a larger lot vs right next to the building, that might be more difficult. As far as parking spot assignments and enforcement, I see that as a good thing! I thought the Rivian was a L1/L2 cable? Is that not the standard?
  9. The current State of charging in the US

Just having available outlets would be fine. Get a break on your taxes for installing them, customers use their own travel EVSE (hopefully they continue giving one with the car). Customers pay for the energy they use
  10. The current State of charging in the US

I'm hoping all hotels will have L2 sooner rather than later. Will make taking trips much easier when you can avoid a trip to a DC charger and just do it while you sleep
  11. It's May....

I still feel like Launch Green will be earlier instead of later since it is a limited run collector's edition kinda thing. After that I would think they would just go with what's more popular so probably a tossup and Red, Blue, and Yellow at the back of the line
  12. What Else Are You Considering?

F150 EV for now. Cybertruck is fine on specs, I can deal with the ugly exterior, but the interior is comically bad. Dumpy bench seats? No decent storage? The faux marble paper dash? Wow... just feels like an experiment with getting people to pay the most for the least. Hummer looks great...
  13. Potential EV Incentives

I was thinking some kind of website that the dealer or manufacturer uses where they input the VIN and purchase details and get some form of confirmation. The lower price is given to the customer, the dealer or whoever would then get a refund from the govt at some set interval. I think it...
  14. Potential EV Incentives

Still hoping for point of sale price reduction. That will really help the lower income folks since they can more easily handle smaller loans and purchase
  15. I hope Rivian can eventually target more middle class consumers

I feel in time they will get some more economical models, but they are now making a premium product for a premium price. They want the customers that wear Patagonia, not the ones that wear Columbia :D I think the 4 motors is a really cool feature that truly differentiates them. Tesla is going...
  16. Wish List - Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) locations

Pismo Beach (EA at the outlets, but more CCS is better :like:) Fort Bragg/Mendocino area (really anything north of Santa Rosa, very limited right now) Yosemite (can trickle charge at the campsite, but would be nice at the top) I'm really hoping they don't stick too many in bigger cities, would...
