  1. Marketing Research: Why did YOU choose Rivian?

Since all markets are different, I'll speak to myself and my geographic location (Adelaide, South Australia) Q1) Remembering back, how did you FIRST become aware of Rivian and when? Reveal around 3 years ago when the first stock photos came out, I liked the look of it and was intrigued. Q2) If...
  2. Badge appreciation thread

Have to agree with you! The gold letters on white look great. Too bad I'm gonna go for Forest Green and Black 20's AT's, the badging doesn't look as cool
  3. Badge appreciation thread

I debadge my cars too. Removed every badge off my Skyline and kept only the GTR logo on the boot. I'll probably remove the Rivian badges on the side and R1T on the rear, but keep the bonnet badge. Bit surprised they have a thick badge on the side that sticks out. Little things like that make a...
  4. ? Official EPA Range and MPGe Numbers for R1T & R1S

Cool - do we have any info on what rubber/compound they'd be using? M/T's or Geolandars or something similar? I have G016's on my forester and they're pretty decent for city driving but I can see that big knobbly tyres would be less efficient...
  5. ? Official EPA Range and MPGe Numbers for R1T & R1S

Yeah that top line really hurt me in the feelz I wonder if they had *different* 20" rims that the range could be extended? Lighter materials for the rim such as magnesium or titanium (I've used both before, they're great but super expensive compared to alloys or steelies). Or perhaps a different...
  6. Offroad package or dark AT wheels

For $3500 USD, I wouldn't buy those rims. They look nice but the standard AT's can probably be powdercoated black for $200. Off-road kit would give you more flexibility in the long run.
  7. Motor Trend Review: The 2022 Rivian R1T Is the Most Remarkable Pickup We’ve Ever Driven

I too would prefer a solid roof. Electrochromatic as an option.
  8. Motor Trend Review: The 2022 Rivian R1T Is the Most Remarkable Pickup We’ve Ever Driven

Absolutely agree with this. Even something basic like volume control is better with a knob instead of a touchscreen. You want to be able to do a few things without taking your eyes off the road and having to focus on a screen. I would want to see a volume knob or at minimum tactile up/down...
  9. Confirmed: R1T Gear Tunnel is accessible from interior through rear seat arm rest!

That certainly makes sense, esp if heating and cooling had to be moved for the frunk as mentioned. Its a very minor thing but it might surprise some people in future. Not that we really use gloves for driving anymore...
  10. Confirmed: R1T Gear Tunnel is accessible from interior through rear seat arm rest!

I wonder why. Interested to know what is behind that space.
  11. Confirmed: R1T Gear Tunnel is accessible from interior through rear seat arm rest!

One thing that I am curious about, is the air circulation inside the frunk (not to store living beings in, sheesh). I only ask because I see this is the area designated as the endorsed spot for a fridge/freezer - all 12v fridges I've seen need air circulation to work, if they don't, the...
  12. SOL if you want the Launch Edition features and don't already have it

If we're just talking a unique shade of paint, I don't get why LE isn't still available? I mean, the cars are not yet being delivered, soooo they're not launched yet. Am I missing something? Seems shitty to withhold a shade of paint for those that want it while the pre-orders are still being...
  13. Rivians spotted in Auckland, NZ

I'm so glad to see they've finally gotten here... Now we just need RHD and 240v outlets. Once thats done, I'll put my deposit down ;)
  14. Rivian in Australia - Factory made or locally converted - Thoughts?

I hadn't heard that about GMSV, but I would much rather the distributor in Oz have an official relationship with Rivian. Aus MV are making big claims... -D
  15. What is important to you from the infotainment system?

I'd say the side mirror/middle mirror isnt quite the same comparison. Side mirrors are electric so you can adjust them without having to wind the window down. The center mirror is always within arms reach. I wouldn't want to electrify things that don't need it for two reasons, a) more...
  16. What is important to you from the infotainment system?

    - Any screens need to be readable in full sunlight - if this isnt fixed then its worthless - Buttons or tactile controls for volume, back/forward, answer/hangup, mute (usual stuff), you can't do stuff with a touchscreen while you're focusing on the road (which is where your attention should be...
  17. Rivian in Australia - Factory made or locally converted - Thoughts?

This one doesnt really bother me, upon the logic that we have smaller houses these days and people would have most of their storage and charging stuff on the left hand side with the car so close that the passenger door wouldn't open. At least thats how my garage is. I would plug the car in to...
  18. Rivian in Australia - Factory made or locally converted - Thoughts?

Inverter - we'd be using 240v as opposed to 110v Charging location - which side? -D
  19. Rivian in Australia - Factory made or locally converted - Thoughts?

Yeah. More like expressions of interest at this stage. All the publicity/hype they get now will help determine just how the RHD market will operate in Oz... That said, I never expected deliveries to oz till at least 2024, the US delivery delay surprises me not at all, especially given the...
  20. Rivian in Australia - Factory made or locally converted - Thoughts?

Howdy, Just read an article here in Australia regarding a company that wants to import Rivians... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...
