  1. R2 efficiency

Hi All, Had anyone heard, or has Rivian disclosed, what sort of efficiency the R2 will do (roughly)? I've not seen anything but I assume its going to be better than the R1. Cheers
  2. Which R2 Color Will You Choose?

Black on black with black trim and black wheels ... like a lot of Ranger Rovers. Known as the 'Drug dealer' package
  3. Which R2 Color Will You Choose?

I have a LE R1T with Launch Green and 20" AT tires. For some reason, I think Launch green only works with AT tires (must be a military vibe).
  4. Employees receiving R2 first. Does this forum have any Rivian employees? Will/Can they answer questions?

Paid by Ford .... are they going to say anything other than positive??
  5. 2027 R2 Reveal! Specs, Pricing, Range, Dimensions, Wallpapers, Colors, Interiors

Wonder how it works to go from reservation to 'yes, let me config and order'. Do guides reach out?
  6. A good time to own an EV - Gas Prices about to go nuts [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

I like to look for the silver lining ... more people would get off their fat asses and walk/bike. Seriously, the number of Mom's driving in their Yukons the 800 yds to the bus stop with their kids twice a day(who are perfectly able to walk) is staggering. So is the engines running for 10+mins...
  7. New RJ interview on robotaxi, autonomy, personal vehicle ownership, cash burn rate, R2 (BuyHoldRant podcast)

I have a hard time beliving in the 'shared ownership between friends and family' too. I mean, you split the cost 50/50 then figure out the practicalities of usage afterwards? Nah. Just buy a car that costs half the price and use it when you want.
  8. RAD! Rivian Adventure Department officially launched! RAD R2, R1S, R1T unveiled

Maybe its just marketing or maybe its a genuine skunk works thats going to test a bunch of cool stuff that'll hopefully filter down to the cars themselves. Who knows. I like the idea of 'specials' ... like the Porsche 911 Dakar or the Lambo Sterrato. \ Spend less on self driving and more on...
  9. My experience on a 4,200 mile road-trip, and ...

Forgotten how good that red paint looks. Don’t see enough of them around. Thanks for the great write up.
  10. Rivian Robotaxi plans begin. Now hiring for Level 4 autonomous vehicles lead designer (job listing)

Dear Rivian, Please don’t waste your money at this stage. You’ve got a factory, plus a load of debt, to build and pay off. You’ve got service centres still underperforming. Focus your effort on rolling out R2 & 3 asap at high quality (recall early R1 QC wasnt exactly epic) and a price thatā€˜ll...
  11. R2 emergency door opening sanity check

Humans are just getting lazy and always looking for ways to make things physically easier. A door handle - not difficult. Just pull. Why the hell do i need a button and all the electronic crap that goes with it when a simple, well sprung handle will do. And then everyone wonders why cars...
  12. Six R2 Launch Colors Confirmed by tate16t?

    i want poo brown.
  13. R2 Early Production Vehicle Sneak Peak on CNBC [Ride Along Video w/ RJ Scaringe]

That’s a good piece. I don’t want to sound like a fanboy but you have to tip your hat to them for the progress they have made and obstacles overcome. I’m really looking forward to getting my R2. P.S. reporter .... get the f@#k off your phone when RJ is talking to you.
  14. $2500 Autonomy+ one time purchase now an option on Rivian configurator

Also... instead of spending all this $ on Autonomy, why doesn't Rivian invest in ways to make the cars either: 1) better (you be the judge of what that means to you) 2) more affordable (ditto)
  15. $2500 Autonomy+ one time purchase now an option on Rivian configurator

Nah, pass. A few times I've used 'hands free' in my R1 and previously Model Y when I was on a long straight highway and wanted to unwrap a snickers or something. Humans are getting lazy. Its a car ... its meant to be driven. Otherwise get a chauffeur and sit in the back.
  16. Rivian PLEASE give us a VERY LOW REGEN for Conserve Mode and Snow.

Conserve mode (2WD) for a heavy vehicle in the snow is not a good idea. Agree that you need to feather the throttle off to avoid harsh regen braking.
  17. RJ Scaringe interview on Kara Swisher podcast

RJ is a great communicator IMO. He doesn't over-hype but you feel his passion. He's a geeky engineer after all and I think he's 100% the right person to lead Rivian. He just needs to keep a great team around him.
  18. Anyone using garage tiles under their heavy Rivian?

That upsets my OCD that you didn't reverse it in (and then you wouldn't have to stretch the charging cord)! love the garage tho.
  19. Winter Storm Preparation

Kettle, toaster and espresso machine all ready to be plugged in to the R1.
