Seats look AMAZING!
I think the wood will look different in production. This color looks quite a bit different than it does in the configurator, and Tony's email from a few months ago specifically said that one reason for the delay is so that they can "make sure it looks like how you all saw...
I seem to remember railroad tracks run right through the Normal Factory, actually. I wonder if they're utilizing that so that they drive the trucks straight from the factory onto the trains. That'd be mighty efficient.
I am considering powder coating because I want black wheels for sure, but I like the design of the "standard" AT wheels better than Rivian's $3500 black wheel option. So I plan to get those and then powder coat them black immediately after delivery.
I have a few questions about the process...
Did you really feel the need to correct me over a difference of 6 miles? I also said "about" 295 in my original message. Near as makes no difference – 300 miles.
I saw that last night too, and assumed it was old news. Maybe not.
Worth noting though that Kyle from out of spec did about 295 miles on the 20 inch all-terrains.
This gives me a lot of hope for taking delivery in 2022. I'm March '21 reservation, initially Max Pack but switched to Large in November last year. I'm on OC though so I won't get mine until "later this Fall".
What are you talking about? This is what happens at every automaker. Look at pics of any Tesla Gigafactory and you can see parking lots full of cars waiting to be shipped out. Production will likely always outpace deliveries.
How about we only post in this thread if we've actually been contacted (instead of posting "no contact yet" and making the post bump up to the top of the forum, thus getting everyone excited)???
Forest Edge and Ocean Coast are SOOOOO much better looking than Black Mountain, and no one can convince me otherwise. I’d never get black mountain. I’ll take the heat.
Has anyone considered that Rivian is just batching the interior options instead of doing all of them at the same time? It seems obvious to me that this is what they've chosen to do in the short-term as they ramp up.
If this is what's happening, I wouldn't call this a "delay" on OC at all...
Ocean Coast is a non-negotiable for me – I will not switch to any other interior color option no matter how long the wait.
I wasn't going to get mine until Q4 anyways so hopefully his announcement isn't that OC is delayed to 2023 or something.
