  1. New Rocky Mtn Power EA Installations

I also had the pleasure of meeting Alex Breitbart, Lead Charging Infrastructure Rivian at a miserable EA station in Green River UT. We discussed station locations and the need for trailer friendly layouts. Good newsšŸ™‚ He was in Green River planning a new RAN!
  2. New Rocky Mtn Power EA Installations

We enjoyed two new RMP EA installations during our recent 1300 mile trip towing our 28’ Airstream. A beautiful installation with trailer lane in MOAB, right in the riverside park. Also one off of I40 in Ivey Creek Rest Area. Both with new generation 350kW EA chargers. Great to see and use!
  3. EA Charging Session Failed - Plug Stuck in my Rivian

I had a similar experience at the Walmart EA in Gallup NM a couple of days ago. After failing to initiate charging via the app, the EA rep tried to initiate on my account from her end. Failed - unplug and try again. Would not unplug! R1T screen did not show ā€œstop chargingā€ option. Rivian...
  4. Holbrook AZ RAN w/ Trailer

28’ Airstream, 7000-7500 lbs, 900 lb hitch weight, Equalizer hitch.
  5. How many go full send when charging at home?

With rooftop solar and net metering, it behoves me to charge our two EVs when my solar production exceeds my household consumption. This means midday. Fortunately, I am retired and don’t commute to a job, so I have this option.
  6. Holbrook AZ RAN w/ Trailer

Easy access from I40 and a trailer lane!
  7. Flated Air-Topper modifications for R1T

Good job. I took a simpler approach, attaching velcro directly to my tailgate lid to mate with the Flated rear window flap. This works just fine, and with black on black, it is not obvious. I also added 1ā€ neoprene weatherstripping along the front and side mating surfaces of the Flated, which...
  8. R1T Range Extender!?

Hardly a must. Just a polluting complication. I have over 8000 miles towing a 28’ Airstream, and no desire for a range extender.
  9. Ran out of battery for the first time

Twas a rainy winter night on the interstate, towing Airstream, estimated range hit 0 (first long tow, learning curve in effect - adverse wind, temp.) Fast Charger station 2 miles ahead on opposite side of hwy, in Travel Plaza with attached RV park. R1T goes into reduced power as I hit the off...
  10. Current Travel Trailers / RVs you're towing - Reviews and Recommendations!

We tow a 28’ Airstream with our Dual, Max, Performance R1T. The 8000 lb (fully loaded) trailer tows beautifully, with about a 50% range hit. Our previous 23’ Airstream would be easier in many charging locations, but in over 8000 miles of travel last year, we had to unhitch only three times. At...
  11. Phone as a Key doesn’t work for women

Hate to shock you, but some males such as myself carry their phones in the back pocket of their jeans. If thy Rivian ignores you, turn the other cheek.
  12. Bend OR to Temecula CA - Trailer Friendly Chargers list

I have a Furrion continuous observation rear camera on the Airstream.
  13. Bend OR to Temecula CA - Trailer Friendly Chargers list

That is our major concern as well, which I’ve expressed to Pebble. We won’t make our final decision until we physically see a production unit and assess that bed. We’ve had boats and trailers which lacked access on both sides of the bed, and don’t care to get into such a situation again. We...
  14. Bend OR to Temecula CA - Trailer Friendly Chargers list

Yes, we enjoyed the new R1T on two major cross country trips last year. Towing with our R1T (dual motor performance max pack) is just a lot more fun than using our RAM 2500. As far as trailer friendly charging sites, I find such pretty scarce with a 28 footer in tow , but I’m happy with...
  15. Bend OR to Temecula CA - Trailer Friendly Chargers list

Good travels. We have over 8000 miles towing our 28’ Airstream, with very few inconveniences in charging. Using the NEMA 50 pedestal in campgrounds for an overnight charge is super convenient. Here we were at a RAN in Forks, WA.
  16. No Longer Wish to Use Tesla Supercharger Network

Reality is that I still have freedom of choice. Such is not guaranteed and should not be taken lightly.
  17. No Longer Wish to Use Tesla Supercharger Network

I will use a Tesla Supercharger only as a last resort, and with over 19,000 miles (8000 miles of cross country towing an 8000 lb Airstream) I’ve done just fine without Tesla. As you said, my ā€˜vote with my wallet’ may not affect the grand scheme, but it does affect my sense of morality. What...
  18. 21" Tires a problem ANY suggestions ?

I’ll just say that Discount Tire managed to find a set of the 21ā€ Michelins for me back at the end of November, and I’ve been very pleased with them. Better ride, great traction in snow, the same qualities that I’ve enjoyed with LTX M/S 2 on my other trucks. I was prepared to extend the...
