I guess “complaining” here might be useful after all. I got a call from Rivian today about my AC service ticket (among other things). After seeing all the complaints here of this happening since the recent update, I mentioned that to the service representative; he said he’d heard a couple...
it’s a forum about expensive vehicles. The whole forum is “first world” topics lol
The people here spent a pretty big chunk of money on a vehicle that at times doesn’t do basic things as well as cars 1/3 the price. I think it’s fair to complain.
Maybe there’s a happy medium between “I must have [random thing] in two hours” and “dang, three months until I can get an appointment at the service center”?
I signed up in large part for priority software updates. According to Rivian Roamer, 99% of Connect+ users are eligible for the latest update, and 8% of non-Connect+ users…but still nothing over here.
Thanks for the reply!
Will definitely be ordering this — still can’t figure out why Rivian didn’t put in an overhead sunglasses holder like every other vehicle on the planet lol
@twraps I have way more of your stuff than I should 🤣 I’ve noticed that some of the 3D-printed items have sharp edges. Does this one? If so, is there a recommended way to round those off a bit?
Thanks!
Hard to compare the areas where Rivian’s software controls the vehicle, but I’m having trouble conceiving of a CarPlay implementation that’s so bad at navigation, media playback, messaging, phone functions, and hundreds of third-party apps—areas where CarPlay is, to my mind, much better— that...
🙄
We all spend a huge amount of our driving time interacting with the vehicle’s infotainment system, so how that system works and what it can do is understandably important to some people. I don’t get the dismissive and condescending attitude toward people for whom Android Auto or CarPlay is...
If I were buying today, I’d probably opt for the standard sound system and put the money I saved toward an aftermarket upgrade. The “Premium” is really disappointing. Twice we’ve had a Gen1 loaner with the Meridian audio and it’s so, so much better.
The Chilewich Mats are available for purchase on the shop for Gen2 models, but there are three colors: Sandstone, Dark Green, and Steel. Anyone know which color is the best match for the Ocean Coast interior? I think it's Steel, but maybe it's Standstone? Hard to tell from the photos in the shop.
Wow, so it's not just me. After our first service appointment, the Ocean Coast (light) interior on the front seats, console armrest, and door armrest were very visibly grimy. It took many hours of cleaning to get the stains (mostly) out and they didn't seem to think it was a big deal.
For our...
The post felt genuine to me. Maybe they were simply waiting for a resolution before posting? The OP was hoping for other solutions (a replacement vehicle, credit to make it economical to re-buy, etc.) that didn't happen.
And let's be honest: Based on replies here and to other threads, I suspect...
