I thought the .47 was a huge step up from .43 but the more time I spend with it, I find the trebles and mids are still a touch muddy and the soundstage a touch centered. Still way better than before but still room for improvement
Unlike before the preset EQs actually seem to work- I am enjoying the Rock and Hip hop presets. Nonetheless, my custom EQ looks like this- the dip in 4K I’ve found instrumental in tempering the brightness of the system.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has so far!
Few other threads on this but for gen 2 premium sound .39, tweaking the EQ can get it to acceptable levels. The .43 update currently rolling out fixes a lot of the sound issues including sound stage and muddiness. Poorly mixed atmos tracks still sound terrible but that’s the mix, not the...
The sound tests are other guys. I am eagerly awaiting their results. For now it’s just what sounds good to my ears and crowd sourcing other people’s EQs. The new system needs a lot less finessing than the old one tho!
Yes we have been talking about the Gen 2 Premium Sound ad nauseum in this EQ thread:

And that’s my Reddit post linked above. But basically, yes, the .43 update is the biggest update to the premium sound we’ve had and it...
Ok. Wow. .43 update is the biggest change to the sound system we’ve gotten yet.
The sound stage is fixed- the center front speaker is no longer overpowering. The muddiness is completely gone- the speakers are almost too bright now. Going to need to take some time to completely overhaul the EQ...
Yes, the main way we have been reducing the strength of the front center channel is to move the fade and balance slider back, to somewhere around the rear seats. After the last update I’ve noticed this slider resets every time I get in the car so.. pretty excited for this new update to make this...
In relation to the Rivian premium audio in my Gen 2, the center channel is way too overpowering which makes “center stage” center in relation to the center of cabin, but actually to the right of the driver, or the left of the passenger, where your head is at. My experience is that while I’m...
Yeah the atmos tracks are incredibly variable. Better to turn it off. The good atmos tracks do sound great though. Earth Wind and Fire’s September sound phenomenal.
I also downloaded Tidal and started a free trial to see if there is any difference. There isn’t. Bad atmos tracks still sound bad...
This honestly looks great. I like the design, I like the low lift height of the frunk, I like the gas extender, I like the interior with the knobs and buttons. They are both WAY BIGGER than they look. Given VW’s track record this will be out by 2028 at $20k more than advertised, and given how...
Looks like it will be more classic / utilitarian in style and design as opposed to the Rivian which is a little more techy / futuristic. I imagine it will be one price rung below the the R1T. The SUV looks like it’ll be an R2 competitor.
