If true they literally knocked it out of the park. Especially that rear window. So so so many people loved that on the previous Sequoia and 4Runner and with Toyota taking it away, it may just tempt some of that crowd. Or even the RAV4 crowd. Amazing.
For me personally my decision to buy an R1S vs. R2S wil purely depend on the range/features that both provide. I can live without a camp speaker & air suspension. But I’d love to see 350 miles of range, heated (not necessarily ventilated) seats, moon roof, and 500-600 HP for 60K. At that price...
I wish there was a 4th option. I’ll be putting down $100 because I can. BUT if the R1 refresh is a more compelling option, I’ll definitely be going that route instead.
1.) intent or not this is their car meant to crack open the access for the common man and the common man in America can’t afford 1K to just sit in a vehicle reservation until their time comes for configuration/delivery
2.) I guarantee if Tesla had come through on even 25% of what they PROMISED...
EXACTLY. the mileage estimates in Tesla’s are now becoming notorious for not reaching what they claim to. Which is exactly why I emphasized it. This new pricing/battery introduction AND the introduction of the R2 on March have me looking very closely at what Rivian is doing if I’m a Tesla owner.
This has also made me excited for the R1 line refresh. I want to either go ALL in on the R1 with the 1200 HP rumored enduro quad OR go with the Standard+ battery & a dual motor performance setup.
This is VERY interesting. If Standard+ is an LFP battery pack (which I’m pretty sure is the case) the case for a dual performance just became a whole lot more clear. Or heck even a dual with a standard+ battery (to stay under 80K) and then upgrade the software to dual performance after purchase...
this would be amazing. tbh i love the R1S and have my order up right now for configuration but am not in the place to purchase a 100K vehicle. Even more so I’m waiting for the new Ascent model that’s rumored for the spring/summer. I want an enduro quad and if they did something similar to...
Honda said y’all can have your 40-60k EVs but not with our brand name ?. Tbh good for them. I’d rather see them develop their product from the ground up and get it right and keep their brand in tact.
Not true on the battery piece. The new max pack has a different chemistry that allows them to only put in only a few more modules but receive more mileage/efficiency in conjunction with the Enduro motors.
I’ve been invited to configure (reserved October of 22) and am waiting until 2025. I toon...
