  1. Mounting a cell phone. Has anyone done it?

I figure that I am probably going to subscribe to the Rivian service after the 1st year...but will have to see if there are tiers...that has been an issue with the Kia UVO service. The high end Kia service is pretty pricey; the low end has been enough for me. Pending interoperability (I...
  2. Mounting a cell phone. Has anyone done it?

I would say wait until you have your truck and try stuff out before deciding what to do. My other EV, Kia Niro, supports via usb Android Auto and CarPlay. I understand the desire to not have to learn multiple systems/commands, but would urge a try. I would also say that early reports of...
  3. weathertech floor mats

I really like TuxMat | The Ultimate Car Mat With Max Coverage ...again, they are in Toronto and want someone to bring them a truck to measure. At one point, they offered a free set to the person who helped them out on this...a little too far for me to drive, though. In the meantime, the...
  4. Mounting a cell phone. Has anyone done it?

I got mine after some of the early software updates. That may account for some of the differences. I've read the other posts and just have not had those problems. Let's hear it for OTA updates. In my 2019 Kia Niro EV, I have to do updates via an SD card...seems primitive :)
  5. Mounting a cell phone. Has anyone done it?

So far, I have had really good experiences with the Nav system in the R1T and am very impressed by the overall level of voice integration. Alexa in the Rivian can do just about anything related to driving, comfort functions, music, integration with my phone...btw: this is the 1st sign of a new...
  6. Key fob question

Is your phone set up to auto lock/unlock? Leave your phone inside and see if the fob works like the phone. Not relevant to me, however, until we get the ability to set the sensitivity of the remote sensor....don't want the vehicle unlocking unless I'm within a foot or so...
  7. Actual load stickers, please post

My load sticker is about 300 lbs lower than I thought it would be: Wondering what the load stickers say for the 20" and 21" wheels. That may be a consideration for some folks in deciding which set of wheels/tires to get...I'm good with mine, but others might not be.
  8. Drive Electric Earth Day

3 hours of non-stop folks coming by and chatting...was kind of fun. Lots of people glad to see that the R1T is actually a real thing...and a bunch who had never heard of Rivian as well
  9. Truck Camper Range Impact

Haven't seen actual #s for the 21s and 20s. Here's my 22" sticker: Figure two humans, two fairly large dogs, a camper unit a little tricked out at 400+ lbs, water, food, cooking gear, bedding, well, it starts to get pretty tight after not too much calculation. Not saying it can't be done, but...
  10. Truck Camper Range Impact

Page 163, manual: I really wanted a slide-in, but the payload numbers, not to mention center-of-gravity/performance/stability concerns mitigated against that even without Rivian's warning. Ignoring warnings like that is probably not a good idea.
  11. Truck Camper Range Impact

Rivian specifies that the R1T does not support slide-in campers. This makes sense given the weight/load limitations. Even with the Overland or, say, Home - Hiatus Campers, pounds add up very quickly. All gear, people, dogs, have to be figured in. Beyond that, however, there may be concerns and...
  12. Automatic Braking Features

Yep, a car zipped through a stop sign and I got the auto brake blink, etc. They were going like the proverbial bat out of hell (sorry about MeatLoaf) and the warning was short. Good to see though.
  13. Rivian charger vs 3rd party charger?

I've been very happy with my Clipper Creek ( ClipperCreek: America's Most Popular EV Charging Station ). IT has served my Kia Niro EV for 3 years and is doing just fine with my R1T. Does it have wifi or a modem and an app. No, and no thank you. The Kia and Rivian apps do just fine on charging...
  14. Does the wrist band key still exist?

I was told today that they are in the works...not available yet, will ship with instructions on pairing.
  15. Software update delivery mode clarified

This is just in case anyone else has the same question...My wifi connection to the truck is strong. AT&T's LTE here is about 1 bar. I asked whether the update would use the wifi as the better connection rather than the LTE which might be spotty at best. Tech support assures me that delivery...
  16. OTA Update 2022.15 Software Release Notes

Talked to Just finished with tech support with a couple questions...they have some stories to go with their awareness of this...future update will address.
  17. How do we get notified of updates? Garage door in next update

They must phase the updates to not overload their bandwidth. Just went out and checked my R1T and it is still on the previous update and says that I'm up-to-date. One other consideration: My truck is connected to my home wifi (strong connection) as well as its own LTE. The truck LTE is one bar...
  18. OTA Update 2022.15 Software Release Notes

I'd really like the ability to alter sensitivity when using the phone as a key. For me, ideal would be auto lock/unlock at about a foot rather than the 5 or 6 foot range that I was seeing before I disabled it.
  19. Spare Tire

I once had a blow out on an interstate where there was no cell service...driving without a spare, please spare me...
