Nowhere did I say don’t take a spare tire when off reading.As mentioned above, if one plans to do any off-roading, no matter how little the chance, it is enough of a percentage that it is better to be with it and not need it, than need it and be stuck out in who knows where-land without it.
I’m saying for 90% of the owners out there, they will most likely not be driving anywhere but on road and will not need a spare.
If you go off road,do then do the same thing I do. Pick up a spare. If you’re worried about payload and or weight and willing to deal with the hassle, put the spare on a tire rack and load it up when you head out.
90%of us won’t need a Yakima tent either. This is the equivlwant of saying if you plan on doing any camping you should have a shelter…not really a surprise.
