  1. R1T versus F150 Hybrid/Electric...

I’m back to considering the F150 Hybrid again. -F150 Lightning doesn’t have enough range for me. -Suspect R1T Max Pack delays are going to get longer and longer beyond my need date. Anyone else reconsidering?
  2. Off Road Package now optional for Launch Edition (lowers price by $2k)

Are we sure they didn’t raise the price by making the skid plates optional? I can’t find a receipt and didn’t take a screen capture.
  3. Anyone hear from their Rivian Guide?

Do you know is the address? I would love to stop by.
  4. Anyone hear from their Rivian Guide?

Glass half full: If there are launch delays, those of us later in the queue might be ok as they catch up. Glass half empty: If the can’t even accurately forecast timelines 2 months out, how on earth will we get these things serviced.
  5. 80A L2 charging

I got the 400 mile pack so on random weekends I can drive 150 miles to a campsite stay 2 days and drive home without worrying about my charge. I have all week to get the range back up. The only time I might want more amps at home is when I boost the pack from 90% to 100% right before I leave...
  6. 80A L2 charging

How far are you driving per day? Needing a full charge every night is a small portion of the population. Even Tesla gave up in 80 amp charging.
  7. Did you place a reservation for the F-150 Lightning?

$90K Platinum for 300 miles of range is not going to work for me. The hybird at $70K is more tempting. No one is mentioning Apple CarPlay as a motivating factor:)
  8. Electric F150 Lightning EV to be revealed May 19

I like the frunk a lot. 300 miles of range is not enough. 350 might be enough to take a test drive. After this, we will not have an ICE to fall back to. We need something that isn't going to drive us crazy with charging times or finding a charger for a road trip. I think I prefer the Rivian...
  9. 4.4s 0-60 MPH For 2022 F-150 Lightning EV

Range is the main number I care about!
  10. Timing of New Tundra with potential for plug-in Hybrid could hurt Rivian

Current Tundra has horrible MPG and the interior is 15 years out of date. They have a lot of catching up to do. F150 electric and Cybertruck are bigger competitors.
  11. Teslsa ... misleading? ... say it ain't so

I wonder what they will call it ... if it every reaches Level 5.
  12. Comparable Used Truck to the R1T?

I don't think there is anything that is 1:1. For performance you need to get a Raptor or TRX. Even then those are pretty slow relative to the R1T. Size wise it is wider than a Tacoma but narrower than the F-150. Similar to a Honda Ridgeline. The Tacoma is easy to park but the F-150 can be...
  13. Any forum members have extensive experience using Electrify America?

Even the Tesla Superchargers are not as easy as a gas pump. I have had faults that take multiple attempts. It takes about 20-30 seconds to fully engage while the light blinks blue. I always cross my fingers that the light is going to turn green. Sometimes it doesn't and you are really in trouble...

  15. Electric F150 Lightning EV to be revealed May 19

I want 400+ mile range. Ford is likely going to sell a gas engine add on to do this.
  16. R1T bed length

Just measure my Yakima box, it needs 60” from the cab to the last bar. Not going to mount over the bed. Has to go on the roof. Was hoping it could be lower for easier access. If you are not worried about security, the skis can just rest on top of the gate.
  17. R1T bed length

Curious how far a car top carrier will overhang the back end? Will it mount to the rails or will it be too long.
  18. At what volume do you predict the CyberTruck will surpass R1S?

If the designs were reversed, would anyone buy the CT? If Rivian built a giant stainless steel Dorito and Tesla built a nice looking normal truck, I think the stainless steel Dorito would flop. The CT says a lot for the power of the Tesla brand and Elon’s sales ability.
  19. What Else Are You Considering?

While I agree driving a Dodge TRX for a couple of days would be pretty cool. Unfortunately it isn't for me. A R1T with Max Pack will likely be able to go farther. I hear real world MPG of a TRX is around 9. 33 Gallon tank = 3297 mile of range. Or if I drive 120,000 miles in a TRX that is going...
  20. Buying high end EV from start up

Contortionist - yes, sacrificing hand and finger skin - yes, special tools - no.
