  1. NEMA 5-20 option?

It's 33% faster charging. I'd say that's well worth it if it means my cost to charge is $0.
  2. WAPO Article: EV makers poised for a shakeout. Rivian has best potential to be a “mini Tesla-like ecosystem."

I test drove a Lucid a couple of months ago and was very impressed. The sustained acceleration at speed was like nothing I've ever felt (I believe it was the top 1000hp version I drove), that coupled with the efficiency and overall build quality was great. I've just a lot of very fast cars and...
  3. What is the correct recommended 21” cold tire pressure?

Yes, 48 PSI cold. I'd definitely check them when the temperatures heat up. Generally higher PSI is better for efficiency while lower PSI is better for comfort. Just set it to 48 PSI and don't worry about it.
  4. NEMA 5-20 option?

Thanks. I put in a request that Rivian add additional adapters to the webshop, seems like quite a simple request. I think I'll just put up with the 15 amp limit given buying an additional $600 charger would defeat the purpose of taking advantage of the free charging.
  5. NEMA 5-20 option?

I have the option to charge for free with a 5-20 outlet at my office building. I'd like to take advantage of the 33% extra current. Is there any way to use this with the mobile connector? The only options I see are 5-15 and 14-50, 5-15 will obviously work but not at the extra current the outlet...
  6. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

EV makers need to make this the default. Why can't I just rock up, plug in and the station automatically charges the card my Rivian/account has on file? This isn't even difficult, it's already a standard. EA, EVGO, Chargepoint, (Tesla?) would basically cover 95% of things.
  7. Carbon Ceramic tinting benefits?

Every piece of glass in the Rivian rejects UV, the front, front side, and roof are all laminated and thus will be blocking all UV, the rears are tinted and will be blocking UV.
  8. Show off your dashcam memory card install

I hope it works out. Those only have a three year warranty.
  9. Show off your dashcam memory card install

I think it's a much better option than a standard USB flash drive but I would still go for a Sandisk Max Endurance micro SD card as it has a much longer warranty (15 years vs 3 years on the T7) and is purpose built for this. Sandisk wouldn't be backing them like they are if they expect them to...
  10. Show off your dashcam memory card install

This is another good reader incase you want it with a cable so you don't accidentally snag it when getting something in or out of the center console.
  11. Show off your dashcam memory card install

Most of the flash memory in standard USB sticks isn't designed for constantly being written to and over. It will cause the cells that make up the NAND flash memory to fail quite quickly. You need flash storage that's specifically designed for this like a Sandisk Max Endurance micro SD card. I'd...
  12. Show off your dashcam memory card install

For anyone interested, buy a micro SD card designed for this in the largest capacity possible. Something like a Sandisk Max Endurance 256GB. The larger the capacity, the higher the total data written TDW...
  13. R1S Routine Maintenance

Those things are junk. I’ve tried them before and had results all over the place. Swapping brake fluid costs $20 and could potentially save you from a fatal accident. Skimping on it is utterly stupid in my opinion. Even if it was perfectly accurate and reliable the fact is, brake fluid doesn’t...
  14. R1S Routine Maintenance

Exactly. How did you know the fluid was fine? It’s hydroscopic and will absorb moisture over time which can eventually lead to corrosion, brake failure, gas pockets, reduced braking. Brake fluid can look fine and have dangerous levels of water in it. You could think it’s fine until you need your...
  15. R1S Routine Maintenance

Thought I'd jump into this thread instead of starting a new one. Definitely need to swap the Brake fluid at the 2 year mark. I always use Bosch ES16-32N as it meets DOT 5.1 which is about as good as you can get and lasts for three years. My guess is Rivian uses DOT 4 which is compatible with...
