We are taking a road-trip down to Disneyland at the end of August. The plan is to stop by the Venice hub on the way back. We've never seen an R1T or R1S up close (2018 pre-order). We saw an R1T drive by when on vacation in Las Vegas. And I saw an R1T drive by when in SF for work. Really...
I am wondering whether a 3-ton jack would be enough to lift the R1S or R1T for the purposes of changing a wheel? Or if combined with the provided jack - rotate the wheels/tires (2 wheels at a time)?
I know a 3-ton jack max lift is 6000lbs. And the R1T (heavier of the 2) is 7100lbs. But I was...
But at least progress on the delivery front (regardless of whether an employee or not). The sooner they are delivering them to employees (more than a couple to key early employees) the sooner they will be getting whatever feedback they need to proceed with non-employee deliveries.
That always seems to be the case. I like how the one CS rep was adamant it's not happening and that you can't believe the misinformation on the forums.
Sadly this is the only place we can get information because Rivian is so terrible at communication.
Looks legit to me: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20220712005411/en/XPEL-Selected-As-Exclusive-Supplier-to-Rivian-Automotive-LLC-for-New-Paint-Protection-Film-Factory-Direct-Program
Edit: sorry should have linked the thread discussing it...
We took our car-seats and tried to fit them in a used X (6-seater) on a lot. Once we got them in, we determined it was too small inside for road tripping (good luck getting a stroller in the back + anything) with our 4 kids. The shape of the X (and, to a lesser extent, many other 3 row ICE...
I haven't received anything about my R1T (Aug 2019) which originally had Oct-Dec 2022 window. Given that the earliest Canadian windows I've seen are early LE R1Ts, in BC, with Dec 2022-Jan 2023. Rivian responded to a media inquiry and said Canadian deliveries were starting in November 2022 now...
Would it be safe to assume they will *keep* an R1S at the Venice hub after this event? We may be making a family trip to Disneyland near end of August....I plan to swing by Venice hub since I've never seen an R1 up close. It would be amazing to see an R1S there...
I went through a few threads and tried to note the (updated) windows people posted as well as their locations. Here is what I found:
BC: Dec/Jan (R1T Adventure + R1T LE), 1H 2023 (R1S LE)
Quebec: 1H 2023 (R1S LE)
Ontario: 2H 2023 (R1S LE)
Alberta: 2H 2023 (R1T LE)
For the BC Dec/Jan windows...
That may even be factored into the delivery timing. I can't recall what windows people in Alberta have. But there are a few of us in BC that have either Dec/Jan or 1H. And Ontario folks with H2. Although I'm sure it's service centers that will be the real driver.
I bet the November deliveries in Canada will be the employees in Vancouver. Maybe non-employees in December or January. I've got 1H 2023 for my R1S. No clue on my R1T (no update for that yet).
It's possible there were even worse issues initially that were caught. We'll never know.
My company does internal betas of devices before we sell them to customers. We do find a lot of issues. But the problem is that the population of testers is small in comparison to the customer base so we...
It's not Rivian's fault. However. Not communicating to their customers that the parts didn't show up and they won't deliver when they said they were until the parts showed up (or when it was clear they would miss their windows) IS Rivian's fault. Most people are not angry with the delay...
