There are idiots everywhere. I’ve dealt with idiots like this using the wrong EvGo or EA charger for their parking spot, or taking up two spots for no reason and then acting all butt hurt when they’re called out.
People suck.
Unless they changed the design since I got mine, the sliders cover up the factory points and are replaced by jack points on the sliders themselves. Are you sure you're not thinking about the Running Boards which do retain access to the stock points?
If you're avoiding the whole service center refusal to use their lift with sliders scenario, then none of the rock sliders will meet that requirement. The steps, on the other hand, should be fine so long as they aren't blocking the stock jack points (I don't think any of the ones out today do)...
Oh one other thing - another option may be to compensate them for time and labor to remove the sliders so they can access the stock jack points.
They'd probably be happy to do that for a fee, but will likely not agree to put it back on again (the whole liability thing again).
Not a great...
Even models within the same year have slight variations - until Rivian does an official "refresh" of the model, it's best to just get what's available and what works for you economically.
Some things that have changed within a model year include: change in audio system, inclusion/exclusion of...
If they are true rock sliders, then they would have to cover the stock jack points and likely have their own jack points.
I would first try negotiating with the service center - show them the sliders' jack points and see if they'd let you slide (pun intended). If not, and you really don't want...
Looks like you're over the line - was the cable not long enough to allow you to park within the space completely? It looks like that supercharger is centered to the space instead of between spaces like the traditional ones, so I'm surprised if the cable is still too short to reach the left side...
If the sliders don't allow their jacks direct access to the stock jack points, their policy is to reject any service that requires the vehicle to be lifted. Doesn't matter if the sliders are rated by the manufacturer to support jacking directly on the sliders or even if the sliders provide their...
Been using A2Z with no issues or warnings across the Northeast. It’s a passive device so it should be completely transparent.
In any event I’ve also got an EVSportline rock slider which was also said by Rivian to void the warranty.
I also use an extension on my home EVSE which causes me to...
My R1T is an early 23 build so it still has a 12v under the dash. That said, you can either tap into the fuse box or get a USB to 12v accessory adapter.
I know if you plug in first then use the app it confuses the system and it hits you on both sides. I suspect between the attempts, it switched from app billing to plug and charge and ended up hitting both ends. I’m sure they’ll fix this eventually. I’d report that to both Tesla and Rivian.
My Trade Wind came with the Voyager camera already installed on top of the rear hatch. I had to adjust it a bit though as I wanted to be able to see more of the rear horizon than the top of the rear awning. LOL
Right on, we'll see you there! I've planned my charging/harvest host stops from NY to NC and will likely spend the rest of the week there after the rally.
I also just registered for the Airstream Club International rally in Sedalia MO for earlier in the month. First timers to both of those -...
Awesome to see a bunch of us representing the Rivian/Airstream combo! Hope to see you guys out there! Any of you going to Alumalina or the ACI Annual Rally this year?
Agree wholeheartedly. I'm OK towing a trailer with the Rivian but on long trips, I cap it at 5 charges per day and then stop somewhere for the night before starting over again the next day. This makes a cross country trip considerably longer than it used to take me with an ICE tow vehicle. That...
Haha, I've done all of those same parking configurations with my T@B 400 last year except for where you're on the opposite side of the Tesla charger spot, taking up 3 spots AND the driveway behind it LOL - you gotta do what you gotta do!
Is that a 22 ft Bambi? What kind of efficiency are you...
Replaced my NuCamp T@B 400 with a larger trailer, the Airstream Trade Wind 25FBT. It's 26'2" end-to-end, 10' high, 8.5' wide, weighs about 7300 lbs at capacity. Drove around 110 miles from the dealer in New Jersey back home to New York with mostly highway traffic on I-95, and some city traffic...
3 EV’s with approx 90 miles a week combined on one charger - no issues yet. If our commute goes up, we may have to plan charging schedules accordingly but for now we just plug whatever vehicles needs it most whenever we think of it.
I've done a NY to Illinois trip and aside from a crowded stop in Northern Indiana where I decided not to wait and found a slower charger at a nearby car dealership, the navigation computer was spot on with recommended charging stops and routing through traffic. I was running ABRP on my phone as...
