Speaking of which, two questions:
- What mileage are folks expecting for their snow tires?
- Can anyone speak to how much better the snow tires perform than the ATs?
Like other people in this thread I live in Seattle, so even when going skiing my drive is 99% asphalt.
Totally agree on limiting possessions, it's amazing how much *stuff* one can accumulate. I probably use my RTT on single night or multi-night trips 1-2 times a month summer & winter, which is why I'm considering this.
Hey all, looking for reviews from folks who have purchased Gear Tunnel camp kitchens like the Thunderbolt Supply camp kitchen. It's nearly $4k which is super steep and I'm curious if people have perceived it's "worth" it. Some primer questions:
Is it actually that significant of an upgrade...
I've used insulation, electric blanket, and space heaters in my RTT. In terms of making the RTT more livable, I'd rank it by:
1. A good sleeping pad. Upgrading to an Exped with a high r value massively improved the cold weather warmth.
2. Heated blanket - very nice to have and easy to use...
There is 1 listing up there, but they're sold already and they just haven't taken down the listing.
Thanks y'all for that other listing here - missed it since it's in the Wheels area. I'm probably not first in line though, so if anyone else is selling let me know!
Right, by inverter I’m referring to the outlets sorry. The cabin was already absurdly hot due to it being 90deg in Seattle this week so couldn’t tell ?
I’m planning a 3 week road trip through the Canadian Rockies in a month and experimented with keeping my inverter / outlets running without any load to test the battery loss.
Sitting parked and locked with the outlets on, the truck lost 16% (72->56%) in 48 hours. Ouch!! Looks like I’ll be...
Any 20” wheel, wheel or wheel + tire as long as tire is the stock AT tire.
Offer obviously depends on condition of wheel etc. I’m looking for a spare & am unlikely to do a 5 tire rotation.
Switched my Nov '21 reservation from an S to a T, and was pretty confused by the pricing:
- The Adventure package is now 70k (from 73k?)
- Switching from dual to quad motor costs $1500
- Switching from dual to performance dual motor costs $2500
- Manual tonneau is $800
I think this shakes...
