... does anyone know what the difference between a cup holder and a bottle holder is?
Discussing 'bottle holders' vs 'cup holders' feels like the most Car Enthusiast Forum thing ever.
Totally fair enough. I’ve seen it done on tacomas which have about the same payload capacity too.
My main usecase here is storm chasing/skiing which isn’t particularly amenable to trailers though otherwise they’re perfect
IIRC the payload rating (almost definitely the wrong word) is 1600lbs. Given that the lighter campers are ~300lbs i think we're okay as long as you're not planning on camping with your lucky lead camping chairs.
It may be too early, but has anyone tested out truck bed campers on the R1T or have any estimates of range impact from ICE/towing experience? Specifically something low-profile like the OVRLND pop-top camper. I've seen estimates from reddit threads etc ranging from 15-30% reduction and am...
I was chatting with some friends skiing and mentioned Rivian, and it turns out one of them works with Rivian (being intentionally vague). He immediately said that Rivian was the most disorganized company he'd interacted with so far. Thinking about it some more, it does show up quite a bit in the...
Aways an interesting discussion. One reason that really pushes me to go electric here in Seattle is that our grid is almost entirely renewable (90%+). Going skiing (which requires cold weather) and actively heating the environment via ICEs is pretty counerproductive.
I saw a R1T for a hot second in SLU but I've never seen them up close / taken a look at the interior. Have people had success bothering the folks at the Bellevue service center to check the trucks out? I also really want to drive one as the size makes me very curious how it feels in the city...
Recalling the TFL offroading test, one of the main takeaways for me was the weight being an issue in ice. I spent 8 hours getting back from Whistler -> Seattle (instead of 5) yesterday due to freezing rain on roads/bridges and was OK in my model 3 on snow tires but was wondering how the R1S on...
Personally, I am surprised at the seemingly majority of people who are looking to buy an $80,000 car but don't exceed the 250k income cap. The Washington state match cuts me out and IIRC the BBB still has the same limit.
Yeah totally. I’m the appointed rental truck driver on moving day and can handle it fine but navigating the double-parked streets of Seattle is still more mental capacity than I’d care for. Maybe I just “get used to it” on the r1. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Actually, I should’ve made this a bit clearer but I’d really like some references from people who have driven it - does it drive true to size? Does the EV HP & 4 motor braking fool you on the weights? Turning radius? Etc. Particularly the low center of gravity may be a huge game changer.
I can't tell if you're referring to the R1S as a truck or if you didn't read my post. Regardless there are a lot of other reasons that the Rivian is the most attractive option out there for me. Just looking for experiences.
Lol. Definitely agree on the opportunity for a compact crossover, I'd...
