Did you have them replaced due to excessive noise? Everyone says the ride on the R1T is great so I assume you weren’t looking for an improvement in ride quality.

  6. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

@Donald Stanfield I see that your Gen 2 front air spring is part number PT200055318 - E. My Gen 1 has part number C200055318 - A on the left side and C200055320 - A on the right side. Identical to this...
  7. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

ok, I found Rivian’s official bulletin for the chirping suspension issue anyone who requests this fix should get their front air springs updated by Rivian under warranty. However, they say nothing about the rear air springs but it sounds like you got those replaced as well. Since Rivian’s...
  8. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

thanks….i’ll spend a little time analyzing those shots. I may be able to determine if there are some Gen 2 suspension mods already in late Gen 1s.
  9. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

any chance you could snap a few shots of the suspension on your Gen 2 Tri, front and back wheels? That may elucidate some of the differences.
  10. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

The suspension on my late model Gen 1 Quad is already pretty quiet. When I hit big potholes there’s maybe a little suspension noise, but seems like that happens in even the best cars if the pothole is deep enough. So as you said, they probably already started including some of the Gen 2...

  14. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

how did you end up with the updated air springs? Was this a warranty repair or did you source them yourself?
  15. Upcoming Gen 2 R1S incentives? Order now or wait it out?

I think most manufacturers start selling next years model as early as summer of the current year so nothing unusual about that.
  16. Huge drop of available demo vehicles in online shop

Strange it took them so long to relist it. Despite the rather high pricing, most of the R1Ss I’ve seen on the demo site have sold very quickly, often within minutes. I assume most of the deals close, but clearly some eventually make it back. The used market still seems like a way better deal...
  17. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

After looking around the web a bit, it’s clear that the damper on my car is the original Monroe unit https://www.ebay.com/itm/395167289425 it seems that Rivian is still using Monroe dampers, but they’ve been modified for the R1S, at least for the rear. Spring rates also changed on Gen 2...
  18. Gen 1 Rolling Suspension changes

I have yet to drive a Gen 2, however many, but not all, seem to agree that the Gen 2 R1S has improved suspension/ride feel as compared to the Gen 1 R1S. I have a Gen 1 (Aug 2023/vin 18xxx) and received it after all the software suspension updates so I don’t know what the pre-update suspension...
  19. Demo Rivians Now for Sale

My Aug 2023 R1S has passenger side wind noise above 40mph. It’s the worst right after closing the passenger window. Seems to settle in and self correct after 20min but never completely goes away. I put in a ticket for it, we’ll see if they can fix it in March!
