The chargers do seem to keep the vehicle in a "more awake" state which is honestly fine by me. I usually only keep it plugged in all the time when the temperatures are really low which is when I want it to be really active about monitoring the battery anyway. Unplugged I typically lose 1% a day...
What efficiency are you getting without gusty winds and speeding? Both of those seem like the reasons you are getting that efficiency vs the temperature.
On long trips, the outside temperature (assuming no snow or rain) has a much less significant impact on range than other factors such as wind/speed/rain. I drove from Hood River, Oregon to Denver, CO in three days covering 1300 miles last month. The average temperature each day was between 16...
I finished installing the update and my range and range estimates for all the modes are exactly the same, which is not what I was expecting based on the release notes and EPA rating.
Rivian insurance offers glass replacement with 0 deductible. I reason the extra $5/month it cost is much cheaper than any preventative options. They were the only insurance provider I could find that still did entire windshield replacements without a deductible.
I am really hoping for a scheduled departure feature in the app. That and being able to do route planning from the app. It would make road trips so much easier.
The lower tire pressures at cold temperature (if you don't adjust them frequently) also play a large factor. I got an almost 10% increase in efficiently just from correcting my cold tire pressure from 44 to 48psi.
Interesting.
My stats are pretty much opposite from yours. My 15 minute tracker rarely gets above 2 mi/kwhr, but the trip meter average is 2.3 so far which has matched the trips that I have tracked it to battery percentage and energy use.
I also have 20" wheels.
Are you sure that the 15 minute charts don't include energy drain while parked? It always shows a lower average than the trip computer when reset for a single trip.
I was expecting the lowest suspension to be really harsh based on what I heard. On my truck, it is totally fine except for things like potholes. The "soft" suspension setting in my truck is not quite as soft as I was expecting to be though.
I thought that Colorado relied on deicer? That was something that I was looking forward to compared to Oregon that just turns the road red with pumice in the winter.
They originally said the winter test was done in near freezing temperatures which would be much lower than 57 degrees.

Every Car and Driver article about EVs upsets me. They either demonstrate more ignorance than the average EV owner or act like they are on a personal mission to convince nobody to buy them.
