For me it is the fact that they cannot give me an estimate bas on "service center plans" but they have no plans for a service center near me.... At some point you have to cut bait.....
More expensive than the Rivian, but at this point, I have more faith in Ford as a company....... Ordered today expected delivery in Spring 23.... Realistically probably summer of 23.... I originally like the Ford better anyway and talked myself into the Rivian..... I have now come full circle.....
I am so pissed at Rivian right now... They are clustering service centers in FL and then leaving a gap in the panhandle.... They act like they have a plan but then cannot articulate it... You took my money so tell me when you can deliver a vehicle.... If you have no intent to deliver then just...
Again, fair enough.... I built my scenario to really favor your approach. I think the cost savings would be more.... taxes and fees, depreciation is usually front loaded, etc. I also would expect an EV to still be in very good working order by then.... You will have some battery degradation...
I also pay cash for my vehicles.... Let me work through your math... Let's assume each vehicle cost $80K for simplicity and you get $60K trade in. We will assume a residual value of $15K on an $80K vehicle (I think it would have a higher residual value). This ignores taxes and fees which gives...
Serious questions... Why do you trade in cars every three years? Is it just because you really enjoy new cars? I cannot see any way that makes sense from a financial stand point......
Used ones will frop in price since production is way up and there is effectively no wait for a new one... Used were higher before because people did not want to wait for a new one
Is there any chance you buy it? If not, I would cancel the drive. The owner is allowing prospective buyer to drive it at some risk to himself and putting miles in the vehicle. Not totally honest to test drive with zero internet to buy. JMHO
Problem is they are not delivering vehicles to panhandle orders based on proximity to a service center... I would have no issue getting service in Jax given that they should not need much service once the bugs are resolved.
The bigger head scratching location is both Tampa and Orlando... They...
Mobile would work and would service a large region.... The only thing I can think is that maybe, in general, conservative voters (I am one myself) prefer ICE and the the panhandle is largely conservative... (Please avoid politics, not my intent)... Lots of money in the panhandle so I am not sure...
moosetags, I am with you... They plan to put 5 Service Centers on the peninsula and none in the panhandle... What the hell sense does that make.... Need to look at Mobile or Pensacola. Fills a big hole on the map
As a fellow Floridian, it kind of sucks (and by that I mean really sucks) that they are putting 5 service centers in the Pennisula and none in the panhande.... Need one in Pensacola or Mobile
Assuming weight requires more friction, one could argue that it cancels out since more weight also gives you more friction based on the laws of physics.
