  1. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

Not sure what this has to do with my original post.
  2. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

Thanks, I knew going in there might be some problems. I also knew I had another vehicle I could fall back on (2019 Wrangler). I also knew once it became a headache, I would get something else. I was originally hoping for 4 years. At the end of the day they are vehicles, lots of them to choose...
  3. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

I try to do 1-2 a month when its a little nicer out. Maybe one a month in the winter. I work 3-4 days, off for 5-6 days, work 3-4 nights, off for 5-6 days. So I have time to do them, no kids, I can go on a moments notice. I have been trying to visit different Pennsylvania state parks...
  4. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

The acceleration is definitely slower, it has half the power. The performance/time on road trips is what mattered more to me than 0-60 times. I though about trading in the Jeep, but I wasn't happy with Rivian Service. When I wasn't happy with my Jeep service, I just started going to another...
  5. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

Did you miss the part where my Rivian needed service 3 times in a year, each time weeks? Thank you for your support.
  6. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

Not really. Although the Sierra EV has a better range than a Quad R1T, I still wasn't happy with fast charging on road trips.
  7. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

The time for the Rivian maintenance is one thing that put me over the edge. An oil change/tire rotation might be an hour or two, once or twice a year (for me). I can walk to my Chevy dealer where I can get my GMC serviced. I was driving 2+ hours just to get to Rivian appointments.
  8. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

I knew I was rolling the dice with a new car manufacturer. As I stated in my post, I knew once it became a headache, I knew I would get rid of it. As I did. I can understand someone not caring about my charing complaints, but do you really I haven't shared my experience and opinions with...
  9. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

I didn't really consider Ford due to my experience at 2 Ford dealers 30 years ago. Yes, I can hold a grudge.
  10. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

I would probably still own with that experience.
  11. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

Thanks, I do agree on your comment on GMs lifter issues. I read forums on Ram/Ford/GM, they all have their issues. Best way to not buy anything is to read online forums. I was origianlly looking at a Ram RHO, but they are pretty new and people are having problems with them.
  12. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

Everyone talks about ICE maintenance, but in my experience the Rivian took much more of my time to get it serviced for broken things than any other vehicle I've owned. I didn't have access to it for 6-7 weeks in one year.
  13. Traded Gen 1 R1T Quad Large in for GMC Sierra ICE

Last week I traded in my Gen 1 R1T Quad motor/Large battery for a GMC Sierra 1500 ICE. My Rivian was just over 2 years old and had 27k miles. For reference, I have traded 4 other cars in when they were over 100k miles. The only other car I have traded in with less than 70k miles was an Audi A6...
  14. Rivian in the news- “it started smoking”

If I am custormer service, I am assuming someeone knows how to open their own door, and tried to. It would not occur to me that I might need to tell someone "Open your door like you always do". I wonder if she even put the R1S is park, the story makes it sound like the external door handles...
  15. Rivian reliability is a problem

Does the Consumer Reports reliability treat a rattle in the dash the same as being stranded/inoperable vehicle? Those are two pretty different problems. I can deal with a rattle, but not being stranded.
  16. Feature request: auto heated (and cooled) seats and steering wheel

My 2019 Wrangler turns on the heated seats/steering wheel below 40 degrees whenever I start it. I think its great. But I also can't schedule a departure time for it, or control the climate from my phone like I can on the Rivian. If I am leaving the house, I turn on the climate before I put my...
  17. PAAK When Getting a New Phone

I just updated (R1T 1st gen) from a iphone 12 max pro (or whatever the top one was then) to a iphone 16 Pro Max. Worked fine, although I did have to add the new phone as a bluetooth device for streaming music (right now I'm too cheap to pay for the Rivian Connect).
  18. Looking for Service Center Feedback/Reviews: Trenton, NJ vs Gaithersburg, MD

I've been to both, Gaithersburg and Trenton. Gaithersburg is nicer, because it is a permanent facility. Trenton is a temporary garage in a bus depot. But I would prefer Trenton because its an hour closer. People were professional/friendly at both locations. I would go with whichever one is...
  19. Service center updates - Trenton and maybe SE PA

I've driven by the building a couple times, I hadn't seen the Rivian sign on the building. I was also surprised by the "lack" of parking spaces. But keep in mind, they may have other "offsite" parking within a few minutes drive of the facility. They may also have a decent amount of indoor...
  20. Humid air causing fogging on all glass surfaces?

My windshield has started fogging more the last few weeks or month or so, mostly on the windshield. I don't remember it doing it this much last year, or in other vehicles I've owned. I'm in Pennsylvania. But my fogging doesn't look near as bad as OPs, but I do need to use the DEFOG on the...
