I think the general rule of thumb is that you need to add 10 miles for every 1,000 feet of elevation. In your case, that means that you'd need about 260 miles of range to get to Tahoe City.

If you're considering the Michelin Defender LTX M/S tire, you might want to wait for the M/S 2 coming later this year. Otherwise, other good options include the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 and the Falken Ziex CT60.

I have no experience with this 3-ton low-profile floor jack from Harbor Freight but it seems to have good reviews online and it's on sale for $130. Its maximum lift height is 20", which should be good enough for the R1S & R1T.

I'm considering getting jack pucks too but I'm not sure why you would need 4 of them (maybe b/c your tire shop doesn't have its own set?). Don't you need only one for a 5-tire rotation, or 2 for a 4-tire rotation?
