Rivian Blue is easily one of my favorite colors. It's a lot more sophisticated than the typical, bright blues other manufacturers are producing.

I’d enjoy hearing your opinion on the other colors Rivian offers. I’m with you on the blue and red.Having seen all the colors in person on multiple occasions, I think they missed the mark on the blue (too flat, too light) and the red (too orange/salmon; they should've gone with something like the Tesla Ultra Red).
I love blue as a color so much so that I ordered my Model S with a custom color back in 2012 when that was an option (before it was promptly discontinued). I was excited to see the first pictures of Rivian Blue and configured my R1S with RB. But then I saw it in person and switched to silver, which to me looks classier. I think bold colors like the blue look better on the R1T.

My opinion doesn't matter as colors are a personal choice. There's no wrong answer. Personally, if Rivian Blue or Canyon Red actually looked like they do in pictures, I'd be happy with either one. All shades of gray (Midnight, El Cap, Limestone, LA Silver, Glacier White) look fine to me; I'd be ok with any of them except Midnight as I don't like black cars. Forest Green is nice and classy, maybe a bit too dark. Compass Yellow stands out but at the same time it's a bit dull; I wish it were more saturated. As for Launch Green, that's my least favorite color by far.I’d enjoy hearing your opinion on the other colors Rivian offers. I’m with you on the blue and red.
Theyve only just got silver dialed in, give it timeThe Rivian Blue does stand out on the road.
I’m surprised that Rivian didn’t add a new color choice for the 2023 model year.
I think it's coming s00n...like maybe in 2024 or 2025.The Rivian Blue does stand out on the road.

So many publications oversaturate Compass Yellow and it looks amazing. In real life it’s the color of a sun bleached stripe down the middle of a desert road.My opinion doesn't matter as colors are a personal choice. There's no wrong answer. I think part of the challenge for Rivian was to come up with a color palette that works for both a pickup truck and a family SUV.
On that point, my 7xxx vin R1T has horrible clear coat orange peel. Though I don't care. Some of new trucks on the SC I saw recently had really nice paint & clear. They seemed to have dialed-it-finally and the blue looks spectacular.Theyve only just got silver dialed in, give it time
What major upgrades for the R1 platform? It is pretty new so I can’t think 800V for example. The interior and exterior design are set, dual motor already announced and range estimates provided along with pricing. So many publications oversaturate Compass Yellow and it looks amazing. I like the blackness of Forest Green. Even darker would be fine with me.
I saw a Midnight R1T with black sport wheels and my heart almost stopped. It was freshly washed and perfect as an obsidian space ship dropped from the sky. I had to remind myself it would typically be enshrouded in dust to peel myself away.
Glacier White looks lovely. All the speeding tickets I’ve ever gotten as an adult were in white trucks, except for the one black Audi ticket, so I’m leery.
Still waiting on my Max Pack R1T pre-March. Still trying to decide which color to choose.
El Cap is so magisterial on the R1 it’s been my go-to, but I’m trying to do my part to keep the road from resolving into a noir pallet of white, silver, gray, and black vehicles.
So I’m leaning towards FG, or Midnight, or silver, or white, or gray.
Obviously Rivian is gearing up for some big announcements in the next six months, including some major upgrades on the R1 platform. I imagine they’ll be announced as the Dualies become available. I expect a winch option, various improvements, hopefully a newly designed power tonneau, and apropos of this thread perhaps a new color or two.
Orange peel is even more prevalent since the move to waterborne paints, and technology Allowing ever thinner coatings. On that point, my 7xxx vin R1T has horrible clear coat orange peel. Can’t beat it ?I saw blue for the first time in person the day it arrived in my driveway. I was a little surprised how dark the blue seemed. Then the sun hit it and I knew I made the right choice.

You are wrong on Red. I hate red / copperish vehicles but after seeing one in the sun when picking mine up I thought about asking if I could change.Having seen all the colors in person on multiple occasions, I think they missed the mark on the blue (too flat, too light) and the red (too orange/salmon; they should've gone with something like the Tesla Ultra Red).
