If it was your business wouldn't you do exactly the same? Or gift your customers $20k and put them first in line...its hard to even type how absurd a situation they find themselves in.
I am going to predict anything, but why would they bother filling orders, that I believe, they lose money on each order? Are they a charity? They are giving every single pre-price hike order holder $20k. That is absurd as a business. And now many of those people not only are getting $20k...
Can you blame them? Selling something that has a 20K or 30%+ asset valuable is totally stupid and I think we can all appreciate that. Who runs a business like that...
I was not in their shoes, but they could have handled that better - pay more get it faster, etc. The whole situation feels...
I mean I get it. We are all getting a car way too cheap...and we all feel pretty smug about. Maybe they should have said in March if you want it now full price, if you want to keep waiting discount?
I get it, a bunch of people got a vehicle way below market rate - they howled when asked to pay market rate, now howling to be delayed...I guess me being annoyed about the mutltitude of delays makes me a howler too :p
Max pack does not exist as far as we know. We do know R1S and R1Ts do exist, and they are shipping them...
You also can get near that price (over?) with current shipping products....
Are they trying to weed people out who are getting a car at a $20k manufacturer discount to sell to others willing to pay full price for the trucks/R1Ts?
I did...Not thrilled.
I guess executing on the $100 deal was worth it and I did it for this sort of further baloney I had an inkling might happen...again.
California, the largest state in the US by most metrics, hit 100% renewable for a bit in 2022...amazing. Millions things to critique, and poor decisions, but 100% is absolutely amazing for a state as large as a majority of countries. But it took some deciding to try new stuff...failure is...
Metal tokens that need to be mined, then minted (from various metals), received in a pocket, dropped in a box, then collected by someone, and then hauled to a bank to assign value makes sense? lol...I get the old school thing, but its going away..
The concept of paper money, let alone metal...
You are an early adopter of technology, very different. I have been in tech my entire career and used literally some early products from the largest companies on the planet that were badly broken. Very common in tech. I think people need to start thinking about Rivian as a technology platform...
Its margin...and people who chose to pay for it will. I would do the same thing as Rivian...the $3500 delta w/ the dark 20's is slightly too rich for my blood getting 22's included w/ a LE...But I come close to switching occasionally :p
on 80 or 50? That blows my mind. Very few people in Ca have snow tires, so they are reading the small print for the 3 peak rating on the highway? I was on a closure this year on 50, no one through and then 4wd or chains.
you would end up with nearly every factory truck and suv turned around...
