I have been going to Tahoe off and on for about 40 years, and I can't speak for others, but I have never had an issue with AS tired on a 4wd vehicle getting stopped and needing chains at chain control. I have seen on many occasions the entire roadway closed down when it got too hairy - but...
I am currently configured with 22's...my rational:
I have never owned AT tires. In fact almost no one I know does. They all drive to Tahoe multiple times a year, and so do I. I have never even considered an AT tire until Rivian made it a choice lol and a freebie with the launch edition. I...
Looks pretty sweet, but would prefer if it had more than a snap holding it on. As ridiculous as it sounds, license plate theft is a real issue in my neck of the woods. Still don’t like the idea of drilling though, so maybe worth it…
I know next to zero about this, but looking at the wheel, there is no negative space in the center like the 21". Maybe you could make 5 individual pieces that snap in?
I guess until we get data on 21" with and without aero's its a crap shoot if the effort is worth it...
And on another...
I also would like to see more tests, but mostly with 22's...we have a pretty good idea about the 21's and 20's
20's less than 300 miles conserve mode in good conditions, mostly flat freeways
21's ~330 conserve mode in good conditions, mostly flat freeways
In Auburn I would think AT's as you...
For LE orders? 22"s are included...that said, seeing graphs, I can see why we are not seeing more range reports with the 22's and I am leaning towards 22's w/ my build so pretty curious :)
I know nothing about PPF, never used it, etc. Are their downsides to using it? Does it make the color shine more or less (clear PPF)? Does it yellow? I understanding the scratching upside, but curious about aesthetics, longevity, etc.
Thanks!
Trying to decide on wheels, so quick question: Why get the 21's and take the aero's off vs. just getting 22's?
This question is more for LE folks that get the 22's for the same cost as the the 21's. I assume the mileage gain from the 21's without aeros becomes less, and then you need to...
Nice write-up. I'll be a first time EV owner as well, so interesting to see others explore a multi-day road trip!
BTW, what tires/wheels do you have on your Rivian?
Edit: Saw the IG link, 20"'s...look great!
Love the reviews, and I see the length before I start, and if I have time always enjoy them! Basically the best Rivian review on the net by a wide wide margin.
Driving with the Rivian tonneau open is a sort of odd choice though...I would hazard the tonneau is going to be closed for the vast...
I am in the bargain hunting camp...the fact that 20" and 22" are free in LE editions, even though the 21" make a ton more sense to me, it's hard to select them lol...
10% is a lot, and 15% obviously more. Losing ~40+ miles is a huge deal when considering use cases, like one of mine would be to...
I will likely get FE, but I would prefer the FE would with BM. Or OC with slightly darker, less pink (from what i have seen) wood.
Usually a compromise with anything is the reality w/ buying most anything. I wonder if afternaker wood will be a thing? After Seeing the teardown on youtube...
