  1. GM adopts Tesla's NACS standard! Munro begs Rivian to switch

Have seen several inoperable stations. Most due to vandalism, but a couple due to legitimate issues. What we have never experienced is all chargers in operable at a station. With the CCS we have run across this issue multiple times.
  2. GM adopts Tesla's NACS standard! Munro begs Rivian to switch

I think you misunderstand. Having a patent is the fundamental basis of our free market. There are patents involved in today's gas pumps. There are tons of components on your Rivian that are patented by other companies. Those patent holders get compensated whether you think it is fair or not...
  3. GM adopts Tesla's NACS standard! Munro begs Rivian to switch

It's the opposite of anti-competitive. I am waiting to hear from a 3rd party charger maker to adopt the NACS. That will be a true test of whether there is a shift to Tesla's connector.
  4. Electrify America burns a Rivian down

Since we're talking about vehicle fires. https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/06/business/ford-lincoln-fire-recall/index.html
  5. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

Publishing a standard and actually building a car with a charger port are two different things. To not factor that in is disingenuous. It has been discussed here many times that having an established supply chain is a difficult process. Tesla would have designed its port before the...
  6. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

"I acknowledge that the initial publication of CCS's charging standard was in 2011, but it wasn't widely accepted until 2012. The crucial point to note is that Tesla had already begun manufacturing vehicles based on its standard in 2012 and cars with the CCS standard were not around until 2014...
  7. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

Maybe I misunderstood the timeline, but I think the CCS standard was adopted in 2012. The first charging station was not installed until late 2013 and vehicles using the connector were not sold in the US until 2014. Tesla began selling Model S's in 2012, suggesting their connector was already...
  8. Blacked out my logos with vinyl

Maybe you could just sell some letters in the correct font. I think that is how some others the other s get around the patent issue. I bought a Ford grill once and it had the F, R, and D on the grill and they provided an O that you could snap in on your own. Sell extra letters with the kit...
  9. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

When the car auto unlocks, hit the lock button again and the interior lights will turn off. Been meaning to try turning off auto-unlock to see if the lights don't turn on at all when switching to park.
  10. NEW UPDATE: Version 2023.18.00 (Internal Beta): Scheduled Charging In The Rivian Mobile App, Driver+ Improvements, Usability Improvements, and More

Could be any number of the below. Rivian coding needs improvement Rivian coding is not compatible with all phone versions New software release on phone degrades PAAK responsiveness Battery optimization software on the phone turns off PAAK periodically. metal plate in the driver's leg is...
  11. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

Why is Tesla the bad actor? Arguably, the drive to EVs has largely been influenced by Tesla's successes. Tesla doesn't appear to be pushing its connector on any other manufacturers. Ford is making this choice on its own. The CCS standard has a major issue......... The reliability of the...
  12. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

Having an open standard does not mean the standard does not change. The standards group responsible for maintaining the standard can drive impactful changes to its standard just like a standard developed by a single company. Is a board better than a company at making these decisions? That...
  13. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

It could be possible that the rates at the EA station were lower than the SC rates. I remember the days that we used to shop around for the lowest gas prices when getting ready to fill up. The take away here is the Ford owners will have more options than other manufacturers, Except Tesla, when...
  14. Does the frunk of your Rivian get hot to the touch? Or is this my first problem.

Maybe the conversation went like this: Influencer: "Wow cool can I climb into this frunk thingy?" Rivian Rep: "Sure." Influencer: "Could this be used as a cooler?" Rivian Rep: "Sure" Influencer: "Wow this space for a spare tire is cool. Can this be sued as a cooler?" Rivian Rep: "Sure"...
  15. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Agreed. I haven't ever used the integrated opener. It didn't exist when you and I took delivery of our trucks. The Merross add-on is $40 and is super easy to install.
  16. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

It does require a smart garage door opener. I use a brand called meross. You link your meross account to Alexa and you are good to go. I have two garages and a gate programmed in and it works very well. Amazon Link https://a.co/d/0gmOWDx
  17. BEST HACK for quick unlocking

My guess is most issues with proximity unlocking is the phone. I had issues with our Tesla awhile ago and learned it was the battery saver option that turned off the functionality. I always make sure that my phone isn’t doing that to my Rivian key and I haven’t had any issues.
