Thursday after finding my regular 50kw Shell Recharge station wasn't working. Shell reset it 3 times and still no luck so I headed to the fastest chargers within 30 miles at a Walmart. I was pretty happy with the charge rate. It took just over an hour to go from 10% to 93%. For a while the...
Wouldn’t have to do anything different if they added some manual functionality I’d be happy. I use the truck for working and walking to and fro loading and unloading I don’t need it lighting up every time I open the doors
I don’t like having to fumble with the key card or activating my phone to shut off the lights, stereo, air compressor & HVAC. It’s a real first world problem but I’d prefer to manually shut the truck down as a preference
First off, I think the truck if great,
Two parts:
A) I'd like to be able to shut everything down with perhaps a long hold (a second or two) on the shifter stalk button that would auto lock the doors upon exit.
B) And then perhaps a quick tap and a longer hold to shut the truck off and...
I personally don’t see charging rates of 6.6kw or thereabouts as useful. At 6.6kw it worked out about 10 miles added range for what I consider a normal shopping stop at the grocery. Basically enough to arrive home with the same charge level I left with.
The truck is awesome, charging simply sucks without having a charger at home to recover fully overnight.
In my case it’s self inflicted as I could have ordered my chargers sooner.
At a 50kw charger I was seeing 130mph charging rate which could get you through a few 2 hour driving sessions on the hwy depending on the charge station distancing.
No 120v charge point in the cab. (CORRECTION it's under the rear climate screen per Astonius) I use my laptop and for now I'll have to get a longer cord for my Samsung to run from the tunnel through the back seat passthrough. Unless someone knows of a very silent 12v to 120v converter that I...
I'm expecting my ZEF Energy 11.5kw charger soon.
I don't understand the thought process behind the installation of 6.6-7.4kw chargers that seem to be the most common around here. I took just under a half hour to recover my to-from mileage at "ChargePoint" Hy-Vee Location in Maple Grove MN.
While I can’t say all, I can say that several/all of the 50kw chargers I am aware of and that show up in PlugShare are not displayed on the Rivian app nor in the truck.
So my 2021 F-150 fuel cost is about $0.24 cents per mile and this charge session @50kw is at about $0.14 cents per. Using 16mpg for the Ford at $3.85 a gallon
So after 2 hours of jacking around I am back to the charging level I left home with. But am now charging at 130+ miles/hour a useable charging rate imho
I see nothing but a single station 30 miles away with 70kw or better. WTF But there are a few 50 kw chargers around. I should have ordered my charging units sooner but I was pleasantly surprised by my R1T arriving sooner than anticipated
First Thanks I signed up and will be on my way to a 50kw charger. I had hoped the Rivian app would have served the same purpose but it doesn’t show the 50kw options (of which there aren’t enough) yet, on the app or in vehicle map.
I fully admit my EV ignorance. I assumed that the various EV charging points I had seen would actually change the vehicle lol. Well they don’t charge at a level I think any reasonable user needs. I’ve tried a grand total of 3 chargers in my area and the best rate so far has been 14mph. With a...
