I like the OP's plan. For charging I've been thinking to use a 4S 10000mAh 25C lipo. Keep it at storage charge (say 3.8-3.85 volts). That will provide 15.5-ish volts to charge the truck battery. Being a 25C pack, it will be happy to deliver 30 amps for several hours. Of course you need some...
The largest part of my career was in high end hi-fi and home theater. Seeing this done warms my heart. I think a parametric equalizer 'software module' (installed OTA) would be something many of us would gladly pay for.
I'm far from an expert. I'd check seat belts unlocked, outlets off. Gear guard off. proximity wake off, and lock with fob. Beyond that I don't have anything. BUT, I would practice/prepare for doing a 12v jump with a jump box or equivalent.
I'd be jumping this right now. Also, I'd be looking at what might have led to the low voltage on the 12v battery. Anything left on? Seat belts connected? Failed to sleep?
When I first started looking at R1S I just hated the headlights. A close friend said they grow on you. He was right. I love them now. They are unique and looking at them connects me to everything I love about the brand, the vehicle, the community, and the company mission.
I played with the shape a little. I understand the concern about layer adhesion ( failure) and I was able to break one as you predicted (so I removed the Tie Down, flipped it over, pressed the button and the pin drops out, so not horrible). This latest design has a large surface in contact with...
Here are the files for the tool (They are dropbox links-seems the forum software doesn't like these file types). The .stl you can load up into your preferred slicer and the Solidworks file if you can use it for a remix. If you want me to print one for you I'm happy to do it for $25 shipped USPS...
I struggled to get both the left 'button' (which protrudes from the flange surrounding the rod) and the right button (which is flush with the flange and must be pushed in past the edge) pushed in at the same time. So I designed a simple tool that presses both buttons. The slot on the right side...
On Pirelli's website they promote PNCS (Pirelli Noise Cancelling System). They show a tire with 'PNCS' embossed on the sidewall. It sounds like some tires are available in a PNCS 'version.' I'd say if it's not marked PNCS on the side wall it isn't PNCS so no foam to worry about.
@RexRemus
I really like what you've done with the fitting to engage the stock tie downs. I noted your mention of excess slack in the bungee. Here's perhaps another version of the anchor based on yours that might get it tighter and can be printed very cleanly and without supports. The dimensions...
I picked up my 2024 R1S at Gaithersburg, MD Friday the 22nd. Really smooth. Vehicle was pristine. After a thorough inspection I saw only a tiny scuff (like 3mm x 2mm) on the passenger side mirror. Paint and panel gaps were first class. No issues. Checked all main features and systems and all...
