  1. Having a 12V Backup Plan-- need input....

I like the OP's plan. For charging I've been thinking to use a 4S 10000mAh 25C lipo. Keep it at storage charge (say 3.8-3.85 volts). That will provide 15.5-ish volts to charge the truck battery. Being a 25C pack, it will be happy to deliver 30 amps for several hours. Of course you need some...
  2. How to Improve a Rivian R1S’s Elevation Sound System With Simple EQ Changes (Equipment Measured Tests & Results)

The largest part of my career was in high end hi-fi and home theater. Seeing this done warms my heart. I think a parametric equalizer 'software module' (installed OTA) would be something many of us would gladly pay for.
  3. R1S 1200ish Miles Battery Broken

I'm far from an expert. I'd check seat belts unlocked, outlets off. Gear guard off. proximity wake off, and lock with fob. Beyond that I don't have anything. BUT, I would practice/prepare for doing a 12v jump with a jump box or equivalent.
  4. R1S 1200ish Miles Battery Broken

I'd be jumping this right now. Also, I'd be looking at what might have led to the low voltage on the 12v battery. Anything left on? Seat belts connected? Failed to sleep?
  5. Where to source replacement Torx bolts?

McMaster is freaking awesome. Best vendor I ever worked with. People are all super responsive. Order at 4 Pm; it's on my porch next afternoon.
  6. Rivian Front Headlights Design

When I first started looking at R1S I just hated the headlights. A close friend said they grow on you. He was right. I love them now. They are unique and looking at them connects me to everything I love about the brand, the vehicle, the community, and the company mission.
  7. Suggestions for quality cargo net for R1S

I played with the shape a little. I understand the concern about layer adhesion ( failure) and I was able to break one as you predicted (so I removed the Tie Down, flipped it over, pressed the button and the pin drops out, so not horrible). This latest design has a large surface in contact with...
  8. 2nd row headrest removal difficult?

Here are the files for the tool (They are dropbox links-seems the forum software doesn't like these file types). The .stl you can load up into your preferred slicer and the Solidworks file if you can use it for a remix. If you want me to print one for you I'm happy to do it for $25 shipped USPS...
  9. 2nd row headrest removal difficult?

I figured a video would better explain how the tool works.
  10. 2nd row headrest removal difficult?

I struggled to get both the left 'button' (which protrudes from the flange surrounding the rod) and the right button (which is flush with the flange and must be pushed in past the edge) pushed in at the same time. So I designed a simple tool that presses both buttons. The slot on the right side...
  11. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

Some folks want to know how their vehicle works so they'll understand what it's doing and why. Other folks just want it to work the way they expect.
  12. Tireject long term repair

On Pirelli's website they promote PNCS (Pirelli Noise Cancelling System). They show a tire with 'PNCS' embossed on the sidewall. It sounds like some tires are available in a PNCS 'version.' I'd say if it's not marked PNCS on the side wall it isn't PNCS so no foam to worry about.
  13. Suggestions for quality cargo net for R1S

@RexRemus I really like what you've done with the fitting to engage the stock tie downs. I noted your mention of excess slack in the bungee. Here's perhaps another version of the anchor based on yours that might get it tighter and can be printed very cleanly and without supports. The dimensions...
  14. Observations of my recent service visit

Thanks for posting this. Richmond is my SC, as well. I wonder if the folks who work there read this forum.
  15. Recommendation needed: Door latch steps

I wouldn't do it for the reasons already mentioned. I carry a collapsible two step stool (like this). Let's me get to anywhere on top.
  16. Nirvana spotted in The OC

As a kid, I liked playing with Hot Wheels but I never wanted to own a full size one.
  17. Great Delivery Experience at Gaithersburg, MD

I picked up my 2024 R1S at Gaithersburg, MD Friday the 22nd. Really smooth. Vehicle was pristine. After a thorough inspection I saw only a tiny scuff (like 3mm x 2mm) on the passenger side mirror. Paint and panel gaps were first class. No issues. Checked all main features and systems and all...
