I've had this issue with almost every car I've owned. Unlike my wife, I actually ensure the belt has retracted and is stored out of the way when I unbuckle and before opening the door. The move is totally automatic to me now. Wifey, on the other hand, just throws the belt off and jumps out. I'm...
I think Rivian recommends this stuff from Dr. Beasley for cleaning and maintenance. I have not tried it. I would try it on something other than my vehicle first. If that wasn't possible I'd try it on a passenger door in a spot as discrete as possible.
My R1S pulled a little to the right from day one. After 3k miles I had the Richmond VA SC do an alignment. The tech that took a test ride with me wasn't sure it was pulling right. I politely asked them to please run through the process and give me the before and after print-outs. Yep. You could...
Each lid half of the armrest console has a switch. One of mine stopped working. The other works fine. Mobile service scheduled. Never experienced either 'locking.'
I would use shop vac and a small piece of string trimmer line (or similar small flexible 'pick' with a rounded end) and gently clean the gaps. I would not do a pressure washer—too much potential to damage a seal. Just my thoughts.
I think this is a molded part. If the molding process is not well controlled the resulting part can have internal stresses—much stronger than the adhesive can overcome. Get it hot and you might seem them start acting. I would guess that's the issue. I would Think Rivian would replace it under...
I've probably lost a couple pounds since I picked up my R1S in December. I'm walking from spots in parking lots that are literally as far as I can get from anyone else. My alternate is to find a really well cared for vehicle out in the boonies that I assume is an employee who values his ride. I...
Good advice about putting in a ticket with the SC but...in my experience wiper arms are attached to a splined shaft on the wiper motor. The splines keep the arm from slipping on the shaft. If it's been like this from day one, I'd say it was an assembly error from the factory. The fix will likely...
The only surprise here is the OP's surprise. Just like in ICE vehicles, faster equals reduced range, especially above say 55-60. Here's what I've seen in my R1S PDM. Cruising on country roads between 45 and 50 mph I will see efficiency hitting almost 3mi/kwh. Fabulous. On the interstate at 65 it...
