Very true, especially since Boulder is all-in on their sustainable energy plans. Although, Denver would be more centrally located to address the southern counties like Arapahoe and Douglas. I could see many potential buyers getting pulled from there. However, it’s not like Boulder is toooo far...
Yeah man, I hear you there! Hoping the Rivian racks will meet or exceed the Yakima static weight limit (i'm sure Thule is similar). I already told my dog I may have to trade him in for a Chihuahua.
Thanks for clarifying! Much appreciated. I'll probably just wait until things are further along down the road. If life circumstances change between now and my expected delivery date, it's entirely possible I may not even purchase the vehicle. Don't want to be stuck with an unnecessary EVSE...
Thanks. Yeah, It wasn't about getting a specific Rivian EVSE. It was about the possible 18-20 months between now and getting the vehicle. I can't envision new options coming out from Chargepoint, Enel X, etc. between now and then. Also, I wanted to see if Rivian happened to do something...
For this post, let's assume the EVSE tax credit is not extended past 2020.
In reading Form 8911 and instructions (almost fell asleep), it was difficult to discern the the finite details of the EVSE credit. Sounds like it includes all aspects of equipment "towards" the EVSE installation. Let's...
Preorder in October 2020 but fired up for delivery sometime in 2022! haha. Curious where the eventual Rivian brick and mortar location will be. I'm guessing in Denver County (likely downtown).
"Nag Mode" - The ability to record and upload specific phrases/noises/utterances one's significant other makes when displeasure is voiced. This can be incorporated into various features/alarms/notifications, etc. This could make one feel "at home" while flying solo on long road trips! ;)
I brought this up in another thread but i'm too lazy to go back to find it ;) Essentially, I was told by a CS rep that the cargo space is exactly the same in both the 5 and 7 seaters, in that the cargo area floor of the 5 seater would be at the level as the back of the 3rd row seats when folded...
Yep. It’s the future. Find the public companies making solid state batteries for the auto industry and think “stock” lol. Keep an eye on the private ones!
With respect to the iKamper, I have the same question. Although Rivian made custom bars, I’d like to think Rivian was aware of the 3rd party accessory world, and would be cognizant enough not to be so proprietary as to limit their customers to only accessory items they make. iKamper’s site says...
There are many fast chargers out there, similar to Tesla's "Superchargers". Rivian will be compatible with the CCS Network (Combined Charging System). Additionally, Rivian will be launching their Rivian Adventure Network (RAN). After the fast chargers, come the Level 2 chargers that you can...
Ground tent camping!? Meh, that's for peasants! haha. I don't mind tent camping anymore, but it's getting to be a pain for unpacking, clearing the area, breaking down camp, and so on and so forth. It would be nice for a change to roll up to camp, toss the sleeping bags from car into the roof...
The clamshell is definitely an alternative. Thanks for the option. Shouldn't be too big a deal to pull out the bedding of the iKamper and stuff it in the Rivian since you're literally standing right there. Haha. I am getting lazier as I get older though ;) I would like to see how comfortable...
