I think that was a convenience exucse to say why it's not going to be included, but in reality, people will use it on the road and probably cause issues with drivetrain and they decided it's a headache not worth dealing with.

Was about to say the same. I've been seeing people mention 'heads up display' lately, calling the 'gauge cluster' as a HUD. I saw a few Model 3 folks say this, and I'm thinking because they dont' remember what that is anymore...so anything in front of steering wheel is now HUD. :P
