I noticed they make a TT-30 to 5-20 adapter. Would this work as well; albeit at lower amps?
Does the Rivian charger “know” the 120v plug is installed (instead of 14-50) and set max amps accordingly?
I would rather charge at 12 amps on the TT-30 (30A) plug and not worry about setting max amps...
Since it is a local campground (~10mi from home) I am going to take my multimeter and outlet tester.
Mainly was just doing a local test run before we venture out to more remote campgrounds.
We are camping locally and wanted to test the 120V charger at the campsite.
It immediately trips the breaker at the pole when the charging starts. Anyone have any idea what would cause this?
I saw a video (will post if I can find it) that explains the CT best.
“Most of the innovation in the CT was because the engineers were required to compensate for the overall bad design choices “.
I have been a designer on projects like that; head guy thinks they are game changers but simply...
Sorry for your loss; hoping no one was hurt.
I had an ‘85 S-10 burn to ground in the driveway when I was a “kid”.
Luckily dad didnt let me park in the garage (rear main leak) or we would have lost a 3 car garage and 2 other vehicles.
Edit to add; give OP a break. I am sure random internet...
Maybe dont text and drive? I most be old because I am able to wait until I get to my destination to check text messages.
Also very unpopular opinion; I dont like/use carplay either. I turned it off in our other car. I hear the text messages ding and just ignore them.
If I would dare to look...
Received update yesterday no issues.
However previously at 70% charge it would show 232 miles now it shows 244 miles. Anyone else have their range change?
The kids use the hotspot daily to play online video games on the way to school and practices.
If/when they start charging a monthly fee we will simply not have it.
On long trips my wife can use her phone as a hotspot as well so not really needed.
I think you overestimate the price people...
yes 22s have better range than the 20s.
We have around 2500 miles (all winter, dec 30th-now) and at 70% we have 232 miles; so 331 at full charge. I believe the 21s should get 352 miles. So 21 mile difference for me.
Edit: 342 changed to 352
At pickup our R1S (DM,LG,22) was at 80% which is around 264 miles.
Our drive home was 194 miles. The guide showed me how to cancel the suggested in route charging and said I would be fine.
Estimated arrival was 30 miles. We arrived home with 70 left. The anxiety was real for a while.
