Not sure if it was intentional, I’m guessing so, Maximus is RJ’s son’s name. He said he was very happy about the naming of the next gen R2 motors in the investor day presentation where he mentioned it was his son’s name. This was a 3 hour 45 minute event that can be viewed on YouTube.

I cannot tell any difference between my gen 1 and gen 2 efficiency with climate on. I just got 3.24 mi/kwh on an 18 mile drive speeds ranging from 35-75 mph but average speeds off 60 mph with the AC and cooled seats on.

Turn off hvac and see if that makes a noticeable difference.

Return trip ended up at 3.57 mi/kwh and battery temp at 70 F. Not much traffic so pretty relaxed driving.

The answer is the climate control. I would preheat my vehicle in those temps and drive to the gym with only heated seats and steering wheel on and get close to 3.5 miles/kwh Climate control will kill it, especially if it’s blowing heat. I guarantee you if you had climate off you’d be getting 3+...

Sport mode is very noticeably more responsive and I’ll use it during merging onto a highway that has pretty aggressive traffic or very little time to move over several lanes to make the correct exit/merger. It’s nice to have. I would say I use it 20-35% of my overall driving time.

I mean they are already using the rear motor setup for the quad in the Tri Motor setup so the only thing new here, to my knowledge, is the front motor setup, but maybe they have some other parts that are different from the Tri that I'm unaware of?
