I don't think most agencies have the funds to do the entire vehicle. I think doing the doors is fairly reasonable compared to the entire 360 degree package which, as I mentioned, is roughly 75-100k+ depending on vendor, volume discounts, etc.
I always refer to it as bullet resistant. I don't see a point in adding ballistic protection to a vehicle unless you're doing the entire thing which includes the glass. I could see a scenario where a department may want to just do the doors for "cover." Sometimes they shoot out their front...
To each their own. If one was coming from a pretty average gas car the 0-30 mph in the Lyriq would seem on par/normal. Compared to Teslas & Rivian it seems like a big slug.
I rented a Lyriq on a work trip and let me tell you, I hated almost everything about it...
It's unfortunate because it looks decent but the driving experience was really bad for me.
1) The acceleration is awful. Let me clarify, it's stated at 0-60 in under 5 seconds but from 0-15 you get...
Update #2 They are putting in the door "overlaps" that will provide overlap coverage between the ballistic windows and the ballistic resistant door pillars should a round be fired in between the door and the pillar. There's a pink foam that covers the steel and then a nice interior stitched...
I will post detailed photos when the project is complete. It should be done by the end of next month. Modification is required to make the original interior panels / trim pieces fit back together.
False. No one has any authority on price at these shows and they certainly wouldn’t know real numbers when they haven’t been released yet. I’m guessing the range will be 45-65 but nothing is announced outside of starting at 45.

I think even at 45k starting price you're getting a lot more than what others are offering. Probably more performance, two screens (unlike model y), No Elon Musk as a CEO. The AWD model, if 50k would still likely be a better buy than the model Y for the following: Two Screens...
1) I'm not clear if the air suspension will be an issue to be honest. The added weight with passengers is still below the payload capacity so it should be within spec...
2) Those look fun on paper but don't have any real use in real life. If you're evading a dangerous situation they are rarely...
Again, you don't know this because the G2 Quad has not been produced and anything that has been tested was a very early prototype. I think I'm done exhausting logic here...
Honestly it's kinda nit picking at this point...Teslas are pretty much one trick ponies. Rivians are much nicer and the Quad still has more power and is faster overall. Lets be clear here, the quad isn't even in production yet so everything is speculation at this point. Based on the numbers they...
I think the dual motor will be more than capable compared to anything else in it's market segment...What else are we comparing it to? Rav 4 awd? Subaru whatever? I have no doubts it will be more than capable. I have a DM R1T with 21" road tires and it had no issues in heavy snow.
You realize...
