I don't think Rivian's comment is necessarily about a regression (or lack of), though.
My broader read of this, is they're saying this issue is just as likely to occur regardless of what software version is installed in the vehicle.
And, it sounds like they may have identified root cause, but...
The ride will actually be more comfortable on the 20s since the tires are beefier and soak up more of the bumps.
At the same time they're going to be louder though. Partially offset by the RUS :).
While I agree that OP couldāve solved this one by registering his wife as the owner and himself as the driver, I donāt know that itās fair to slam him for not doing that from the start.
In the rush to get things set up for the first time during delivery, Itās doubtful he (or any of us) couldāve...
Thereās what looks like heater elements under my R1Tās windshield wipers: amber lines where they sit on the windshield glass.
Edit: ok, looks like we do have wiper de-icers, and they come on with the Front Defrost :)
Edit 2: had previously said Rear Defrost (which also turns on heated side...
Thanks moosehead, but I think what you're showing is still XTR and not XBRS :(? I'm looking for 6" height without any of the support bars, and it should be $900, not $1800.
I couldn't select any XBRS from the posted configurator link (thanks for re-linking as well). And when I go to the XBRS...
Yep, I have this too. Itās a distinct high pitched ring that isnāt correlated to the usual motor whine.
Pitch isnāt correlated with speed nor load: itās a fixed tone.
Mine also goes away with Conserve Mode.
Also around 70 mph or so. Basically right at highway cruising speed.
I havenāt...
Ahh gotcha. To your point, I guess that is potentially a bigger concern for our trucks than usual, given the way the quad motor system generally seems to work reactively.
I havenāt done an apples to apples comparison but I feel like I do get a little more lateral movement not being able to...
If these rock sliders get extended further outboard, isnāt that going to weaken them against impacts coming from below, because theyāre cantilevered so far from the mounting point?
I donāt know if thatās a compromise Iād want to accept just to let me pivot around trees by steering into them...
Ahh gotcha. Yeah that does seem like the best thing you couldāve done to make this work for all of us. Good āol Rivian, no two trucks the same lol.
Thanks again. Phenomenal work, very grateful!
Looks really good in black, kudos!! :)
What would it take to make it flush with the bezels on the side, so it doesnāt look kinda sunken?
Would we just need to shim a bracket on the bottom or something, to raise it up during our installation of this plate?
I think comparison reviews arenāt ridiculous at all.
Typical reviews are just based on ann arbitrary bar (e.g. āthe ride is firmā means nothing until you compare that to some other known reference): you canāt quantity that until you start pitting each element against those in another vehicle...
I wonder if a sheet metal cover which spans that gap, could be offered to folks as an extra optional accessory? For those who would rather not leave that all exposed.
Like reuse those same bolts to hold it down on the surface of the slider and RUS, and maybe some foam to prevent rattling?
At this point I wouldnāt even be mad if Rivian offered to enable CarPlay for a fee.
Iād pay anything to end the suffering that is the default nav & media UI lol.
Yep, I panicked too; turns out that's an old entry :).
