Mine says that too even when nobody other vehicles are charging.. I'm not convinced that error means anything as the curved is almost identical on every DCFC charge I do regardless of that error.
For referenceI I have about 8,100 miles on my truck and have done two 2,000+ mile road trips where...
yep. We took a road trip down to california where temps were up around 110 for part of it. I had put some snacks and our laptops in the Frunk. Wife went to get some of the snacks and immediately moved the laptops into the cab because the frunk was an oven. I now have a big spot where milk duds...
Yes. There are other provisions related to battery sourcing etc that preclude a lot of vehicles form qualifying.

We're still in the VERY early days and they hype is still real - I have people coming up to me all the time who have no idea what a Rivian is - and I also have people coming up all the time saying "I have never seen one in person before" - there are 10,000 trucks in a country of 330,000,000 -...
That curve sounds like a standard curve. Whenever I charge at a 350 I see over 200 for just a couple of minutes, then it drops down to 170ish for a good bit, then 150ish, then 80ish, then levels off around 50 once I get up to about 80%
Granted I've not done a DCFC w/ the new update, so maybe...
Goodness, man.
Drive the freaking thing already. ???
10 weeks 8,100 miles and I work from home.
Relevant to the thread. In my opinion the truck only has power when you want it. I can drive it at 1 mph at will forward and reverse, and feel like the throttle mapping is really well designed...
It's a 7600 pound vehicle. You could double (hell triple or quadruple) the weight of the windshield and it'd have ZERO noticeable effect on range. Just go toss 600lbs in the bed of your truck and see how much you notice it.
Certainly there are always tradeoffs but the windshield weight...
Definitely interested. Last weekend in August I'm out most likely as I'm volunteering for Hood to Coast on Friday night.
My truck goes up to Bellevue the Tuesday after Labor day, so I'd suspect I'll not have it back by the ensuing weekend, but who knows.
Congratulations, of all the wild requests I've read on the forum this is by far the wildest.
If you're ever in Portland I'd be happy to let you take readings in my truck.
Ok - got lazy, but I did get home last night. Charged up at the Disneyland garage the day before, then woke up and headed north on 101 to San Luis Obispo. I had a work meeting so saw a random charger on the nav, and pulled in to the Calabasas Rondell Smart Park to charge at a 350w EVGo station...
I had a ticket open for my tonneau not closing all the way (along with a few other nits) and was told they aren't doing any tonneau service until the new redesign is available. Like Josh I have to have the truck transported up to Bellevue because they need to check the alignment and my service...
Do you intend to leave the box on all the time? If not what percentage of the time will you have it on? Where will you be traveling? Are there ample chargers? Are you really pushing the limits wrt range on those trips?
For me those answers would be
No
A few trips a year - say 10-15 days total...
