It's at least as good quality. I noticed that the oem one had one blemish and these didn't.
One thing that might be nice though... there are two flims, one on each side. The sticky side had thick stiff film and the outer side had thin flimsy film. Install would probably be a lot easier if...
They look so good! Texas heat made it easy to pull the old badges off. I think having PPF also helped. I think I would have liked the yellow accents on the large badge also, but it still looks amazing!
It's still really hot outside. I don't like parking outside overnight and it doesn't get below 90 until pretty late at night. I did consider that though.
I am in Austin, and its pretty damn hot out. I have a garage to attic fan which tries to keep the garage cool, but the walls measure in at ~100º F. I have noticed that at 48 amps, the cable gets warm, and the thumb press on the connector gets exceptionally warm. Measured it at 118º F. Cable...
Interesting. In the videos I see recirc is off, which is why I mentioned it. I didn't see any mention of testing that in this thread. Figured it was worth a shot. It does take about 15 seconds for the compressor to recognize its pulling in cooler and and slow down, fwiw.
Have yall tried setting AC to recirc instead of fresh? I am in Austin and when trying to use fresh mode on my Model Y or R1T it gets absurdly loud. The fan has to crank to 11 because it's trying to cool 105 degree air instead of cooling recycled cool air. This also chews threw battery as...
You are correct, but if other stations and cars went to NACS we would have the same happy world. There are fewer cars and stations with CCS so it would be cheaper overall to swap those out to the much better NACS connector.
If you never use a supercharger you will never have to worry about it, will you?
Edit: and the poll is explicitly about the connector. Its a better connection. Flat out.
It's not reductive. It's exactly the issue. No one is FORCSD to use a supercharger. And even if I couldn't use the supercharger I want an NACS connector because it's better.
If Rivian goes to NACS that does NOT mean you have to use a supercharger. This is only about the connector and every other station can EASILY put in NACS cables. It's a better connector: slimmer, lockable, same for AC and DC, more reliable.
This doesn't meant that EA, EVgo, and Chargepoint...
This is all just about the connector and wire, right? You wouldn't HAVE to use Superchargers (even though they are so much better). Tesla wouldn't have any control over your vehicle either, its just a physical connector.
This also doesn't stop EA, EVGo, Chargepoint, and others from using...
These were also on my list, even though I went with the Kuat.
Advantages:
Kuat: Style, lockable, doesn't seem to hang off the back quite as far.
1Up: Higher load rating, cheaper
I don't think you can go wrong with either of these. I would note that at least with the kuat (though I reckon the...
