I have the older subframe and the truck is making a bad popping sound when I turn. Has anyone experienced any catastrophic failure of these welded joints?
It was diagnosed to be the subframe. I got an email saying that they have ordered the parts and it will be repaired, but that its not a safety issue. They sent an email and I assume they are going to call and tell me to pick it up soon.
It seems strange that it isn't considered a safety...
A tiny bit - but why is it clicking more than once when turning the same direction, and why would such a small movement in the shaft with low power result in such loud clicks? I'm concerned it may be loose steering rack bolts. Called Rivian and they should be sending someone tomorrow.
I have been getting an annoying clicking sound I originally attributed to the common drive shaft issue. I was preparing for a road trip today when my wife raised a concern about it. I went under the truck and turns out the clicking happens when in park and turning. Is this a steering rack...
Thanks to this thread I picked up the Piston SR last week. Its perfect (though the front tire on my Trek Rail 7 does wobble some - velcro seems to help). Mine doesn't hang off the back much at all but still has room up front with ~1" to spare with my 29's
What is the quickest truck then? It doesn't say. At the bottom of the page it has an article indicating the R1T is the quickest. So which is it? Are they talking about the Hummer?
Edit: Ah yes, found it. Hummer beat their record by .1s. Car and Driver's test shows a slower Hummer at 3.3s.
Got my R1t boards yesterday and installed them today. Had the TP55 bit in the bag with he bolts. It was tough taking that hole saw to the plastic but worth it. They look great and most importantly, my 5 year old can easily get in, even in offroad mode!
We have had a Model Y Performance and R1T since December. As long as one of them is a Tesla you should have no problems being fully electric. Just drove the Tesla from Austin to Denver and back in March. I haven't bought gas since November. Both vehicles are amazing. I just wish my wife...
IMO if you bought an $80k+ truck, some $35 ratchet straps shouldn't be an issue. I use mine all the time so I think its worth it. I have a bucket of normal ratchet straps that are all tangled up. And the time savings I get from not having to figure out how to deal with the excess strap is...
These are all you need and they are AMAZING. I carry around 4. No excess strap to worry about, and they are strong and compact. Auto-retract ratchet straps. Saw them on Project Farm and immediately ordered a set...
No they don't. The app will need internet to load, and if you use PAAK then you will need the app to load. Under normal circumstances, I *think* once the app has logged in, it keeps its session for a long time and will stay logged in, so that if you don't have an internet connection on your...
I have zero desire to buy a gasoline backup. I am done with that mess. I think its old tech and the wrong direction. Gas stations lose power, the roads are too icy to get more gas, and most people don't keep tens of gallons of gas in reserve to go a week on the generator. If I could use the...
I really hope Rivian is able to prioritize this. V2H and V2V are HUGE. People here in Austin are just now recovering, many still without power, and if more folks had V2H, it would have helped so many people. Same for the 2021 freeze, which was even worse in terms of power outages. An...
