Do you want a cookie? My post was in response to a V8 Grand Cherokee owner. Try not to be such a hater next time. Oh, and for what it's worth, my Jeep still has a longer range than both your Rivian and your F150. My Jeep can tow more than a ton too (more than 3 tons, actually), since we're now...
Mine is a Pentastar V6 with the 8-speed. Will do more than 500 miles with ease on a road trip. It can actually push 600 miles in good conditions with a light right foot.
I agree. I think people have different opinions depends upon where they're from. I lived the vast majority of my life in an area that sees a lot of snow every winter. So snow doesn't really deter me from driving at all. Ice, maybe....but not snow or normal winter conditions. Plus, I love winter...
I guess if a top safety rating isn't a concern, then it makes sense. Personally, I think red turn signals are a terrible idea. Amber rear turn signals are a much better option because there's no mistaking them for brake lights. After my last Grand Cherokee was rear ended while I was stopped...
Yeah, that's surprising because I read an article that yellow rear turn signals were finally going to became mandatory with the DOT. And in the meantime, there were supposedly going to be requirements for those amber turn signals for vehicles to be able to earn the highest IIHS safety ratings...
I've said it repeatedly---any car company who refuses to equip their vehicles with the ability to have AA/CP is going to lose customers simply because there are lots of people who refuse to buy new vehicles without AA/CP capabilities.
Good for Tesla to finally smarten up if this info is true.
Yeah, I guess some stamped steel control arms can be suspect. It's not always advisable to just jack anywhere under some control arms. I should have made that clear in my original comment.
So what happened? I've literally lifted hundreds if not thousands of vehicles under the control arms without incident. For any that look fragile whatsoever, it's best to lift as close as possible or directly under the control arm mounting location, so where the bolt/bushing is located. I...
This thread makes me wonder if people don't know how common air suspensions are for SUVs and trucks. There's really nothing special or fancy about it.
Also, it's fine to lift a wheel off the ground using the lower control arm on virtually any vehicle with any type of suspension. The advantage...
I think that's a real possibility. I'm probably going to sell and move the money into other investments. One stock that I made a decent amount of money on is QuantumScape. They are doing into solid state battery technology. I already took my profits there just yesterday and left my original...
Boy did you take a wrong turn. Let's start again. You commented that if gas prices rise, it will turn people towards EVs. I said that higher gas prices is a stupid reason to switch from ICE to EV. Why? Because it doesn't make sense financially. This was generally what we were talking about. As...
Like I said, if the price of gas is the reason you purchased an EV, then the math doesn't make any sense. It rarely does. You didn't get an EV to save on fuel costs, so don't try to suggest that you did.
And you purchased a vehicle that was probably close to $100k. The math doesn't make sense. If gas prices are your reason to buy an EV, you're still in the hole.
That's my exact thought process. Rivian has been one of my biggest losers and it seems like it will stay that way for the long haul. So it probably makes sense to sell at a loss and use that money in other investments that will grow.
It rarely makes sense to switch from gas to electric for fuel cost savings. The math just doesn't really support it in the vast majority of situations.
I realize this is just speculation, but what do you think we'll see happen with Rivian's stock price when the R2 finally goes on sale? The assumption is that it will go up, but how much? Do you think we could possibly see it hit $50? Or is that just not going to happen in 2026 (assuming that the...
I used PlastiDip on my Jeep's factory tow hooks several years ago and it still looks perfect even after using the tow hooks a few different times. I've only used straps though, so no chains or anything that could damage the rubberized coating. I only did it to change the color from the factory...
