  6. Butt in the Air BS

In all sincerity, CODogman, Appreciate all your posts and insight on the forums. Wasn’t really asking for help. Just venting for cartharsis. Wasn’t really expecting people to respond like I was saying it was a great idea Rivian didn’t do Carplay. o_O
  7. Butt in the Air BS

w00f. If we were on a golf course and I looked at the yard markers would you scoff and tell me to use a laser range finder? Mirrors are good. Cameras are good. Yes yes. No, not short, but angles are angles. Higher eye line, better view of certain spots in various reverse scenarios. Whiny...
  8. Butt in the Air BS

/start-rant Rivian. For the love of god, turn off the Butt in the Air stopping reverse. I regularly lift up to see over seats to reverse. My eyes are better than your camera. Also. I cannot tell you how often on long road trips, I stretch my legs by arching up and taking my butt off the seat...
  9. Rivian Driver+ vs. Ford BlueCruise -- my experience vs Out of Spec Kyle's

First road trip user, 2 cents addition: Absolutely should at the very minimum, when engaged, maintain auto-cruise control when you take over to switch lanes. I hate that it turns off both when I push past the lane barrier. Then have to reengage both. The whole point of maintaining speed...
  10. My first EV and my first road trip in the R1S

I agree, there is enough. But there is also more to be had :) My brain did tell me to drive Conserve, even though my heart and right foot scream Don’t do it! It struck me specifically when the kiddo asked me to do a “launch” on an on ramp, and it just didn’t scratch that itch. Seeing the...
  11. My first EV and my first road trip in the R1S

As much as I would have loved to keep the Bronco, had to sell it. Sure I’m going to regret not holding that note in a few years. Stopped at the Electrify America charger station at the Walmart in Bellmead (Just north of Waco). As a point of note, EA app correctly identified the number of...
  12. My first EV and my first road trip in the R1S

You can, I did. Switched from Conserve into All Purpose going 75ish. Took a few seconds for the suspension lift, but felt like the motors came on. Didn’t switch back, but sure it would be the same.
  13. My first EV and my first road trip in the R1S

The Rebecca to my Emme. fingers crossed.
  14. My first EV and my first road trip in the R1S

P.S. my wife laughed at how often I was pulling up the range page and efficiency graph and doing conversions / calculations. She was finally happy when I finally started passing people left and right. Absolutely thankful she’s not the opposite. P.P.S Such a nice drive. sound system was...
  15. My first EV and my first road trip in the R1S

Short and sweet details. R1S, 22s 80 degree weather mostly Flat Texas drive 224 miles 4pm to 8pm ( rush hour hit in Waco ) usually takes 3.5-4 hours depending on kiddo stops/food This trip was 4.5 hours. 18 min stop to charge a touch, and a 20 minute Whataburger stop. Pleasantly surprised...
  16. New R1S owners, please enlighten us on insurance coverage

Was easy enough to have Rivian quote, just a couple of clicks in the 8 step process. Rivian quoted more for me than my bundled coverage with State Farm, so I stayed with them. As I recall it was a significant difference for me for some reason. Along the lines of $300/yr more. During 8 steps...
  17. What did you do TO / WITH your Rivian today? 🧰

Installed Twraps screen protectors on all 3 screens. Went with Matte, borderless without cutouts. Gotta say, they came super well packaged, plenty of wipes/microfibers/dust cleaners. Very nicely done, well worth the purchase.
  18. R1S Delivery Day @ Austin SC. Excitement Level 11

Yeah, I lucked into the batching I guess. I do feel bad for being kicked up the line ahead of folks waiting longer - I definitely don't agree with how they're choosing to fulfill orders. Virtual line should work like a physical one. Cross my fingers that yours kicks in soon, now that Austin is...
  19. Magnetic Tablet / iPad Holder Mounts installed: feedback, review, notes & photos

Thanks for the detailed walkthrough and info! Super helpful!
  20. R1S Body Gaps - Your Input

If it helps any, my R1S has the same roof side trim line. Both sides are a touch higher than the roof center, but they are the same offset. I feel like that's the design. It's a bit awkward from the back, as it sits a touch higher than the top of the liftgate, but from the front almost seems...
