As far as outcomes go, this one isn’t that bad. Good, even, for the safety of everyone else on the road! ?
in all seriousness, I hope this is a faulty rear latch or something
Same on the ferrys, but I’m used to having to turn other EV headlights off while in park and the Rivian is much easier to do using a physical control than my old Teslas!
If state and local governments need to collect mileage-based taxes, they’d not only need your odometer reading but precise location data the entire time to be able to determine the miles driven within/outside of the jurisdiction.
Of course, Rivian already has this data. So does Tesla. So does...
Wait is now 4.5 mos.
Mobile service f***ed up my tailgate yesterday (after agreeing to NOT work on it upon arrival). I have to wait until January for an appointment at the service center to get it fixed.

this one fits great & good quailty. have their door covers too.
I’ve noticed this on my R1T w/Emporia charger since the last Rivian SW update. Previously, the vehicle would top up throughout the day and maintain within 1% of my set limit.
After the most recent update, the vehicle only charges to the limit when initially plugged in, then proceeds to lose...
If that’s true, sounds insanely heavy… especially given it’s no longer an exoskeleton/now uses a unibody for structural integrity a la most cars and CUVs on the road today
All these examples are during the height of COVID weirdness in the car market.
I also sold an 18-month-old Bronco for $20k more than I purchased it for last fall.
Times are different now from a resale perspective. They’re returning to normal, aka pre-2020. Can you get more than you were quoted...
It’s not though! For most of automotive history, except for this crazy COVID period, it has been a well-known and well-accepted fact that premium/luxury vehicles lose 20%+ of their value the second they’re driven off the lot.
It’s not a zero-sum game. The pie is big enough for R1, CT, Lightning, Silverado EV, REV, Hummer and more, even IF they were identically-sized, priced, and equipped. That they aren’t makes the potential niche for each even larger, not smaller.
Ignore EVs for a moment. Everyone here accepts that...
As many others have pointed out, R1T pricing is better than all existing competition, ICE or EV, for similar features/specs/capabilities.
Not sure how that translates to R1T being priced “too high.” In fact, I’m in the camp that believes that QM will be positioned north of where it is now in...
