Agree completely. This was another one of those things that didn’t need to be re-engineered.
Every other manufacturer under the sun manages to provide customers a mechanism through which they can reliably and instantly lock/unlock (not to mention many other functions) from a distance and/or on...
If Tesla is any indication of how long it will take another new manufacturer to reach the build quality/QC of established manufacturers (though I hope it’s not), it could be well over a decade before Rivian starts competing with BMW, Range Rover, or anyone else in that regard… unfortunately...
Maybe for purchase experience, but for service… I’d argue nothing is worse than fledgling dealerless manufacturers. The wait in Seattle for a Rivian service appointment was 6 mos last time I scheduled.
I believe they’ll offer the full $7500 for lease deals from day 1
Overall a compelling offering so far, look forward to hearing more details.
There’s room for many more EV models to choose from and I welcome the EV9 to the fold!
Right, but I think all of these reasons (especially the outsell everything else part) are the concise summary of why it would be idiotic for Rivian to focus resources on a wagon.
A lot of gatekeeping in here. My 2 cents is that people are allowed to be disappointed in the software update just as others can be pleased with it. Or should there be no discussion? Why is this even a thread in that case? Just to be an echo chamber circle jerk?
Myself, I am happy with the...
Have been having this issue on my T since a few software updates ago. I had never used scheduled charging before. I’ve tried with and without schedules and still can’t get it to reliably top up.
I just re-came across articles about this after reading about the Cybertruck that was spotted after a reported rollover test.
Found this thread and was hoping some more information had trickled out since the original articles, but I guess not.
I really don’t understand the mystery theater...
Maybe a tangent but I have often thought about how EV powertrains are a lot less unique between manufacturers when compared to ICEV… they all have instant torque, use basically the same technologies and setups.
The differences between a Celestiq motor and an Equinox EV motor are miniscule...
Agreed. Something tells me @ads75 doesn’t do much adventuring with his adventure vehicle if he thinks HP is the most important number and doesn’t realize how few chargers are in remote locations.
I thought that guidance from Rivian on using conserve mode sparingly had to do with more than just tire wear (undue stress on the front motor & related components)
I suspect that, like my old Ioniq 5 in Eco mode, the dual motor uses both motors for traction e.g. when accelerating from a stop to...
