Wow, this is an interesting and informative thread!! So I have a new 2025 R1T with only 1200 miles, with (I would hope) a new, healthy 12V battery. But I am seeing big VD numbers, and having been out of town for 2 weeks the R1T was sitting on my driveway in chilly Cincinnati. From when we left...
Thanks for the quick answer Sherold! I do have to wonder though, seems the ability to precondition could increase miles per Kwh significantly especially powered from the charger.. Can other EV's do this?
Hey experienced Rivnuts, we are still learning the ropes with our R1T Gen 2 and would like to know if our battery can be preconditioned on the driveway, while still charging? I did preheat the cabin this morning but have no idea if this also prompted battery preconditioning... The heat pump was...
I've read a few of these scenarios where people have experienced dead 12V batteries, and had wondered why this is not safeguarded against by monitoring the system critical 12V batteries and supplying a charge from the 'big brother' battery to prevent these issues?
Hello Kitsap Rivianners! I am a new R1T owner who is in the consideration phase of moving out to your areas and have a question: any of you guys using the ferries to get your Rivians to and from the islands? Asking because of the particularly hefty weight as a vehicle... TIA!
Crazy thought here, but does the NACS adapter work with a level 2 charger? If so, no harm in trying it.. If the Rivian is sensing a plug that's too warm, then this might work...
Very interesting interview, I was hoping for some mention of upcoming attractions though, V2H being my top priority interest. I'm really curious about whether this is a Rivian prioritization, or a bureaucratic delay... Anyone have ideas?
WOW! Sorry to hear about your fast charging issue, and definitely not impressed by the unacceptably long time it's taken for Rivian to get it fixed - whenever they finally do!
We just took delivery of our Gen 2 R1T two weeks ago and are loving it so far. We too are avid cyclists, and we don't...
This is interesting, we just picked up our R1T two weeks ago, and the first time I tried to open the cup holder I had to push it inward, then give it a pretty strong pull to get it to pop out.. Is your R1S also new'ish? I'd try a good push/pull before paying that to replace it!
I have this rack on my R1S. Do what @evrukhog says and pick "accessories." This tells the truck that you have something other than a trailer. You have to do this every time you start a trip, however.
Hi ModestoMan, that's interesting you can use your Kuat by selecting the "accessories" mode...
Thanks again! I tried disconnecting the Kuat light harness yesterday and it worked in terms of not switching to navigation mode. This is an OK workaround, but I am going to send a request to Rivian, since this is not OK to have no option to use a hitch accessory that blocks any rear lighting...
Hi there fellow cyclist! I use the Kuat for hauling two bikes, and I also ordered the Sportline Flip-Out Bed Extender for when I haul multiple bikes for the bike Co-Op I volunteer at, though I'm still pondering how to secure the bikes since they are random sizes, typically kids bikes. Bungee...
Thanks for your feedback! So if I understand you, the hitch actually 'knows/senses' the mass on the hitch receiver? Interesting... So in that case, disconnecting the light harness will not correct this? Hmmm.. Well as far as the weight goes, the same behavior happens with the rack empty and also...
Hey there, we just got our blue Adventure R1T dual motor Max (Gen 2), and we love it! We are both keen cyclists and have a Kuat piston rack, which I mounted for the first time yesterday, and connected the wiring using a 7 to 4 pin adapter, for the brake and turn signal lights that are integrated...
