Thanks for posting - Can someone who's going with a kid have them "innocently" honk the horn? I'd love to know if it can be heard over the crowd noise ;)
From the automation demo, it seems that LIDAR will help the system identify pedestrians and bikes that potentially could be crossing your path. Does anyone know if it will be able to identify deer? That would be huge in some of the areas where I drive! If it could spot deer approaching the...
I'm hopeful, but I also don't need V2H functionality. All of our power lines are underground and I don't think we've had an outage that's lasted more than a hour in the 20 years we've lived there.
Rivian has shown their V2L adapter that plugs into the NACS port on the R2. To me, that means...
Thanks both of you for the info. This doesn't seem to work with officers (when I get to meet them), but I swear all of the signs say "Speed Guideline." Perhaps I'm destined to be a L2 driver. Looking forward to the R2 in whatever form I can get it.
I've never had, or even been in, a vehicle with FSD...Please tell me that you can set it to go, for example, 9 MPH over the posted limit. On most of the highways I frequent (PA, NJ, and NOVA), I'd get run over if I was "only" doing the speed limit. Often it's 15-20 MPH over!
@Zoidz to the rescue - Thank you!
Going monthly probably makes the most sense if you're not sure you'll keep the Rivian for the period of the registration, but it does carry the risk of them increasing the RUC (the 2027 rates don't seem to be set yet) and then you'd pay more in the end. Like...
I've got a '23 R1S where they proactively replaced the battery in February '25 and then had to replace it again in January of this year. They also replaced a couple of other boards when they did the battery replacement in January, implying that they learned what (at least in my case) was...
FSD with Gen1 is a mixed bag...Yes, we were told that the Gen1 would be FSD-capable, but we didn't explicitly pay for the functionality. We knew when we bought the car that it didn't have FSD and we didn't have a date when it would become available. I'm disappointed, but I'd rather have a safe...
I keep a compressor fridge/freezer unit in the subtrunk of our R1S, but I do vent it when I actually turn it on. I either tilt the cover at an angle so there are openings on the side or I use my risers to make the cover completely flat.
I checked the temperature in the subtrunk and it was...
No idea - @Zoidz might be able to help. He usually has a lot of PA-centric knowledge. I really thought that fee was being charged only when you renewed your registration. We bought our R1S in '23 and when I renewed in '24 I did so for two years. I guess I'm looking at a $596 renewal when I...
Alex has been really responsive any time I've emailed. I've had my Auto-Mate about two weeks but plugged it in and synched it to my phone for the first time today. I haven't yet had time to play with it, but I'm really looking forward to what it will do.
Good luck!
I swear it's because I read this thread, but I came out of a meeting today to see my frunk fully open as it's parked on the street. I keep two umbrellas in the top part of the frunk and one was missing. Watching the gear guard video I clearly see someone helping themselves to the umbrella...
I'm just amazed that they actually signaled their intentions! At least your Rivian is drivable and hopefully the work won't take too long.
I remember when Pennsylvania passed the law that allowed you to turn right on red. A short time later I was on a 35mph road coming up to a green light and...
Does it actually turn on automatically if the power has been cut for a while? I'm pretty sure I have to turn mine on by pressing the power button after I plug it in when it's been unplugged for more than an hour.
