The funny part about that is injection molding is cheaper than 3D printing as a manufacturing technique if you order a high enough volume. Last I was doing custom physical parts ordering the breaking point was in the hundreds of units... not enormous numbers.

I'm not sure "when the PBA is sent" is indicative of that. My Guide said "A Preliminary Buyer's Agreement is a tentative, non-binding agreement, that locks in your configuration so you're vehicle order can be pulled for production." which suggests to me it might not always mean built.

I think Tesla is just inconsistent based on the availability of loaners. I've had 1 problem (cellular chipset died) and an FSD upgrade on my Model 3 in my 4 years of ownership and got Model S loaners both times.

I agree with @kanundrum. Unless you are doing 0 down or something weird I'm not sure GAP is really that necessary here. GAP is only really important for circumstances where the short-term depreciation drops the value of your asset below your outstanding loan principal.

Given that is a MiiR Camp Cup, I think in your hand sitting at your favorite camping spot, drinking coffee made on your camp kitchen, is the right place to put it. I love those MiiR cups but the handle coming down so far makes it pretty tough for any cup holder I’ve ever seen.
